Clay is the special guest at the David Foster concert in San Jose tonight. He sang Unchained Melody at David Foster's request. David Foster introduced Clay
as his brother-in-law.

Clay's foundation, National Inclusion Project, ended in 13th place in the America's Cause, with over $26,000 donated. That will fund 2 1/2 summer
camps for kids.

The video taker wrote... I'm glad to read that you guys appreciate the clack. I know the video quality and camera work is awful, but now I really know how talented the more seasoned clack gatherers are. You guys are the best! David Foster had a schtick going on (which I'm sure you guys have heard about by now). After singing a note, David would ask a member of the audience in the front row to come up to the microphone and sing it back to him. The first two times, the audience members were normal audience members. But the third and final time, it was Clay! David sang a note, and Clay sang it back but the note was too high. David said something to the effect of what he can do when he produces and then sang another note. Clay sang it back perfectly. David then introduced Clay as his brother-in-law, mentioned that his sister and Clay had a baby together, and invited Clay to come up on stage. I started to flip out, said OMG about 20 times in a row, and set my digital camera to video mode as fast as I could! Clay looked great! His hair was brown, not red. I'm glad that someone gave him j.acket to wear on stage so he could comply with the "dress code." Clay was very enthusiastic during Ruben's set. From where I sat (very far away from the stage), I could see Clay in the front row clapping his hands above his head after Ruben's songs and waving his arms around after Ruben's request. Near the end of Charice's set, someone came by the front row, and Clay ducked and ran along the front row to go backstage.

While technically speaking Clay has a great voice and always has there is something missing in his delivery. It seems so sterile and unemotional. Like
he's simply going through the motions of singing this very painful and sad song. I just don't "feel" his longing for the lover that he's
so desparate for.

Good to see Clay back again. His voice is certainly not shot. Can't wait for 2010.
Clay has been very supportive of Ruben. I'm sure if someone asked him who his favorite American idols were. They would probably be Kelly and Ruben. I think he has mentioned he has every single release from both of them. |

eraserhead19 wrote:Well, I think you have to take into consideration the video was taken with a camera phone so some of the richness and clarity of his voice would be lost. Plus the fact that Clay was not part of the show, and brought up on stage to sing unexpectedly with no rehearsal. |

Chexxxx wrote: I don't think it has anything to do with being impromtu or unrehearsed, esp considering how many times he's actually sang this song. Technically a wonderful singer but zero emotive skills. Going through the motions is what comes to mind when I hear him sing most of the time. He's still arguably the best male singer from the last 20 years. I can think of several who are better. Josh Groban immediately comes to mind. |

What a great reception by an arena full of non-Claymates. They were sure wowed by him.

His voice is good..... that doesn't mean I HAVE to hear what you hear.... it's called an opinion... I'm entitled to mine... |

eraserhead....since you don't like Clay Aiken, maybe this singer would be more to your liking.
