Lowe's uses the same color match system that most paint dealers use. Benjamin Moore dealers use the exact same machine, except they have their own software for it.

Matches aren't going to be 100%. The fact of the matter is if you want a 100% paint match, your best bet is to go with the company that made the color chip. Even then, expect variances, simply because you are dealing with ink dye lots and other stupid issues that occur.

If your matching a color that is currently on your wall and don't have any idea what the color is, your best bet is prepare to paint a whole wall. Whenever you match a paint, the chances of getting perfect are almost impossible, so it is best to paint a color that is close on a whole wall from corner to corner. You won't be able to tell the difference from corner to corner, but you will certainly see the difference if you are trying to touch up an existing color with a paint that isn't the original mix.
