Little boy's parents sue MJ for raping their son. MJ doesn't want to go to trial, so he meets with the parents and along with lawyers, they make a deal outside of court to settle the issue with a monetary amount. When the parents accept this money, they forfeit their right to proceed with the trial. Then MJ is allowed to get away with committing a crime because he can afford to pay off victims.

And since you are fantastic about making shit up to prove points, how many other children do you think have been silenced with money and were not brought up to the media? Just like hidden drug addictions, Michael probably has many skeletons in his closet in the form of families he paid off to never open their mouths about him raping their kids. Hopefully with his death these families will speak out and show the world what kind of monster Michael really was.

1) The settlement did NOT prevent the boy from testifying in the criminal trial. It makes no sense to say that Michael bought his silence. It was Jordan Chandler's own decision not to testify.

2) If Michael wanted to pay off his accuser, why didn't he do it at the very beginning? Evan Chandler made a demand for $20 million before authorities knew about the alleged abuse. If Michael wanted to buy their silence, like many people claim he did, why didn't he do it right then? Before the police trashed his home, before he was publicly humiliated, before he was subjected to a dehumanizing search of his private parts? He could have bought their silence right from the get go and avoided the whole ordeal. Instead he rejected Evan Chandler's initial demand for money. Why would a guilty man do that?

3) Even if we illogically dismiss the first two points, it still doesn't make sense to say that Michael Jackson bought Jordan Chandler's silence. If Michael's plan was to settle the civil lawsuit in order to prevent the boy from cooperating with authorities in the criminal trial, wouldn't it have been beneficial to him if the civil trial occurred first? So why did Michael Jackson file a motion asking for the criminal trial to take place first if his whole plan was to pay the boy off? If the criminal trial was first, Michael wouldn't have had an opportunity to buy Jordan's silence. His actions (asking for the criminal trial to precede the civil trial) are contradictory of his alleged motives (settling the civil suit to prevent the boy from testifying against him).

Once the civil trial was settled, the criminal trial continued, and there was not enough evidence to charge Michael Jackson. It was brought to two grand juries by DA Thomas Sneddon Jr. and both turned him down.

4) The civil portion of the Chandler case against Jackson was mutually settled with the payment of an undisclosed amount of money. In a legal court document filed in court on March 22, 2005, it was stated that Jackson's insurance carrier ultimately negotiated and paid the full settlement amount [link]. The court document states that"the 1993 civil settlement was made by Mr. Jackson's insurance company and was not within Mr. Jackson's control… The settlement agreement was for global claims of negligence and the lawsuit was defended by Mr. Jackson's insurance carrier. The insurance carrier negotiated and paid the settlement, over the protests of Mr. Jackson and his personal legal counsel."

In the document Michael Jackson denies ever having any sexual contact with Jordan Chandler, in which the parents agreed to that denial. Here is that part of the document:

The boy who got a 20 million dollar settlement from Michael Jackson after accusing the pop star of sexual molestation in 1993 is now battling his own father in court over charges of life-threatening physical abuse.

New York, Sept 6: The boy who got a 20 million dollar settlement from Michael Jackson after accusing the pop star of sexual molestation in 1993 is now battling his own father in court over charges of life-threatening physical abuse.

The accuser, now 26, says his ex-dentist dad Evan Chandler "struck him on the head from behind with a 12-1/2-pound [dumbbell] weight … sprayed his eyes with Mace or pepper spray and tried to choke him" last year, according to court documents filed in New Jersey.

It's a mystery why the son and the father, who became millionaires in 1994, thanks to the Jackson sex-abuse settlement, were fighting in August 2005 - just two months after the singer's acquittal in another [alleged abuse] case involving a teenage cancer survivor.

Santa Barbara County prosecutors had begged the 1993 accuser to testify at Jackson's 2005 trial, hoping he could bolster that alleged victim's similar story of fondling at the pop star's hands. But the college graduate refused to get involved. (ANI)
