Community vs. Modern Family is the new How I Met Your Mother vs. Big Bang Theory.
I'm just happy that we have all four of these shows. Hooray for good prime time TV comedies! |

I'm still smiling from the latest episode. And not just because of shirtless McHale.
Pierce is a B. |

This show is dead last on my list of the new shows--the ones I am still watching I mean. Cougartown has already been crossed off. I like how everyone in here
keeps trying to convince each other it is so great. It's mediocre-to-good at best. how old is everyone that they think this qualifies as a great comedy?
McHale is the only reason I haven't bailed. Parks and Recreation and Modern Family are waaaaaay better than this show.

Poor Carboys -- you really need a sense of humor and a couple of IQ points to enjoy Community. I guess if all the jokes went over my head, I'd be
disappointed too. I suppose if Community had a flamboyant gay guy and Ty Burrell acting like an OTT clueless moron, it would move up Carboy's list.
Parks & Rec >>>>>>> Modern Family. ETA: I think Carboys would like Community better if it had Robin Williams in it. Or Gallagher.

Got to disagree with you, Carboy - I think the show is very well written, and maybe with the excepton of Chevy (though I'm getting to like him), think
it's working very well.

Poor Carboy is right.
Community has quickly risen to my second fave "current" sitcom on TV right now, behind The Office and ahead of Parks & Rec. I find Modern Family "entertaining," but rarely LOL funny. However, Community keeps me laughing throughout. There are SO many jokes running throughout an episode of Communtity (just like The Office), that it demands repeat viewings. And it is still funny the 2nd, 3rd, 4th . . . . time watching it. |

I agree. There are SO many jokes running through each episode that I pick up new stuff over multiple viewings. And even the little things going on in the
background, like the movie posters in Abed's room or Pierce channelling his inner-Rick Wakeman are hysterical.

PinotEnvy wrote: I really enjoy both. Like I have said before, what amazes me about both shows is how quickly they have found their groove. It usually takes sit-coms half a season or so to really find a solid rhythm. Both MF and Community pretty much had it from Ep. 2 on. I lol at both but Community is certainly more my style. They have very different styles though, it really is almost pointless in compairing them. Thursday's episode was incredibly enjoyable btw. All the Jeff/Abed stuff was made of win but everything really worked. Troy with his explanation of Randy also being a female name really got me laughing. Great stuff... as always. |

Paralyzed guy launching himself was awesome. I loved the "human being" mascot in the background at the debate. I also want to see more of the
basketball team, because what they showed us was not enough.

the return of the human mascot is enough to make the show laugh-worthy IMO. I loved the debate montage, with all the impassioned non-sequiters. i'm so glad
this show got picked up for a whole season! it doesn't seem to get as much press as some of the other new shows like Glee and Modern Family, but i think
it's just as good - hell, better - than them. I'd like it to get a stronger following.

that episode was amazing! the show was firing on all cylinders. much <3 for the HB Mascot's return. The Debate was also all sorts of awesome and the
cocky cripple.
