Wait. Why are they showing the identity of the kids that did this? I thought juveniles, even evil little bastards like that, by law had to have their identity concealed if they were under18? That's the way it is up here, although it sure as hell shouldn't be for crimes like that.

But if they don't charge them as adults by November 12, the boys will have to be released...

He lies in a bed on a balloon-type mattress, to reduce pressure on his burned body.

He is covered with bandages; a ventilator breathes for Michael Brewer because he can't do it for himself.

He's hooked up to the marvels of modern medicine that are trying to give the 15-year-old burn victim a chance to be a kid once again.

Sixty-five percent of his body is covered with second- and third-degree burns.

The narrative approach might have seemed like a good idea at the time but it would have held my interest better had the author written from the antagonist's perspective.

The thing about charging the thriteen year old as an adult is that the 13 yr old would still never go to a real pound-you-in-the-ass prison. maybe some kind of stupid boot camp or something.
