My guess is that the episode's edit will be dictated by the fact that Russell ultimately gets immunity, either by winning it or by finding a new idol, while Laura does not. So even though Russell is probably perfectly safe the whole time, the editors will pretend otherwise and hype it nonstop.

An even simpler scenario occurs to me. What if Russell neither wins immunity nor finds a new idol?

If an immunity-less Laura were to go home then, wouldn't that give the editors grounds to hype this "memorable" Tribal Council? If they spend the entire episode making it look like Russell simply has to win immunity or else go home, then they've prepared the way for what they'll portray as some miracle blindside.

This would of course mean that, as I wrote earlier, the editors will be banking on the fact that the audience has already completely forgotten -- or even failed to notice in the first place -- that Russell already had 6 votes comfortably locked on Laura before she won IC in the last episode. Considering how many people were laughing at Russell minutes later for both overplaying and wasting his idol, I don't think the editors would be making a sucker bet. At the very least, they wouldn't be the suckers...
