I like Dells. Their post sale support is really good. I pay extra for the help for 3 years, also pay extra for the 3 years if I kill the computer by spilling stuff on it or killing it by dropping it, etc. They send out the part the next day and the repair guy shows up and puts it together. Their computers are fairly robust on the consumer side, but I bought a Lattitude on the small business side of their models. I wanted to backload from the factory XP (I got this back in April before Windows 7.0), and I wanted a backlit keyboard. This computer has a brighter display than my 4+ year old Dell had, easier on the eyes. The small business computers are different models than the consumer side and pricier. However, now that I have one, I think it is much more robust than the consumer models I have bought in the past. The wall plug is not a huge, heavy brick, which is a plus, too. I just ordered 2 more dell laptops for my company last week. I used their call center for help with the order and it went pretty well. The only drawback is the dell guy has the addresses mixed up where each computer is going, but we can switch them out when they arrive. I am looking forward to seeing how this Windows 7.0 is working out.

My CPA has an office full of HP notebooks and towers and all of her computers are pieces of shit. She is constantly having issues with all of them and it interferes with her productivity. I would NEVER buy an HP based on her experiences over the past 3 years I have known her.

Macs are great, too. I have them but haven' transitioned over to them. They frustrate me and what appears to be intuitively obvious to the casual Mac user just isn't obvious to me. I am going to turn the macs over to the corporate communications types when they get hired. They will need the graphics and stuff that macs are known for.
