Would Nigel really have eliminated Nathan if he were in the B3? I think not.

Yeah, Nathan is not cute, imho. He looks too childish and his face is wacked - it looked all blotchy and slobbish on Tues.

Good gawd, I don't turn the tv on to listen to daddy scold. STFU Nigel - you can't have it both ways - you've always said it's America's favorite dancer. Nathan and Mollie are so dang immature - it's mind boggling that Jeanine, Eleanore, etc are close to their age. The show absolutely created the situation pairing these 2 together. Karen is screwed - she is the Anya of this season. I don't get the Ashleigh praise. That routine would have been amazing if she wasn't the one dancing it. Can you imagine Sabra in her place? Russell is LOVE. |

It pains me that Natahan and Molee will be around for a long time.

Brandon also only had a day to practice...while the other contestants had 3 days. Was it the best piece? No, but it was okay based on the circumstances. The lifts and transitions were a lot better than say Phillip & Channing Jive Routine and Kevin & Karen Cha cha routine ( I blame Kevin more on this) and both of them had longer time to practice.seltzer3 wrote:WHAT??? They were BOTH way out of their league on that dance. Brandon looked like he was going to shit his pants half the dance. Also Brandon and Pauline actually connected and had decent chemistry. For several of the couples (Phillip/Channing, Peter/Arianna, Mollie/Nathan (ironically for a "power couple", Ashleigh/Jakob) it was incredibly lacking. So it sucked that Pauline had Peter as her new partner. Peter may be a more "versatile" dancer than Brandon, but Peter and Pauline did not connect at all. I do find it somewhat humorous that Pauline got cut after drawing a quickstep, just like Karla. I wonder if Alexie will be in the top 20 next season getting the asian girl contemporary slot...and then getting quickstep like the other two. About the lack of chemistry. I found it interesting that when the judges made their cuts for both rounds...they never eliminated an entire couple. So you had two new couples formed (Pauline/Peter and Victor/Channing), and neither couple generated connection...because they are both trying to adapt to their new partners. And a final note about the solos. I wonder if it occured to Nigel, that prehaps the large set, may be interfering with the quality of the solos. I was impressed that Karen and Ryan pulled out some decent solos...considering the new stage did not have the stair rail. So many ballroom dancers in past seasons would use that rail in their solos. So I was afraid that the ballroom solos would look even worse.

Nathan just turned 18. To be that ruthless towards him really isn't fair. We had 50-something angst being spewed at an 18-year-old. There was a better way
Nigel could have handled himself (like having Adam make the announcement rather than doing it himself). He could have just said, "You are very lucky,
young man, AND I need to let you know something I was hoping to tell you as a member of the Bottom 3 tonight... This and this look very immature." To
blame Nathan for his fans is ridiculous. To go off like that is NOT entertaining and not what the audience wants or needs to see. Maybe he should create
Hell's Company for that. Finally, AGAIN, he helped create what Nathan is. You don't hand a child a loaded gun, when they have had no training, and then
wonder why they misused it on themselves or others. Bad analogy, perhaps, but it makes my point.
Above all, however, the audience does not want to be lectured or scolded by Nigel. It has no place on the airwaves. It only turns more and more people off to the show. |

And.. comparing Nathan to Twitch or KHerington? Did you see his pirouettes? Boy has talent, whether you like him or not. He is young, and had a bad night. He
is not the end of civilization as we knew it.

He's obviously talented (so was Kherington), but like her he has an "aura" about him that I don't enjoy. Plus I just know he'll go far :/

I never saw Kherington as a very good nor strong dancer. I can deal with Nathan going far because he has genuine talent and a bit of star appeal. Yeah, he can
annoy me; but he is far better than the Twitches, Evans, Ades, Phillip Chbeebs....

Nathan is absolutely talented. I think he is very immature and having difficulty handling the sudden fame- he really needs someone close to him to tell him to
shut up- but no way does he deserve to be cut before final 10. Mollee otoh...

And he is shy. You can tell that. Often naturally shy people put their feet in mouths when they try to act "cool." And Nigel has insisted on him
pandering, as has been repeated often here.

Totally agree with you cg. Wasn't he crying about being made fun of for dancing in his season 5 audition? Or was that someone else? Such a change from the
false bravado he's showing now. And that is the producer's fault.

True or not, it does seem that nice guys finish last in this industry. The less-savvy need good advice and support from people who have their interests in mind. I'll stop before I convince myself to feel sorry for that dancing methface, Aaron. Oh, and did I mention that I hate people? |

Yes, he was the one who said he nearly quit dance because people made fun of him. You can tell 3 things: he is young, shy and unsure of how to deal with all of
this. If Unca has a problem, he needs to seek out older dancers only. He looks for dancers to appeal to the tweenies, kicks out older looking peeps like Iveta
(but not Ryan, whom the BF was shocked is "only" 28, when he looks 40), then gets pissed when they are immature? Kinda like when he reamed the one
dancer for crying, then had no probs with Kathryn and her tempest of t.ears.

After seeing the solos again, I must say I like them even more than last night. Ellenore's style of movement is absolutely captivating; it's like
watching a cartoon come to life, but it's never in bad taste a la Twitch. I think all the solos were very good; wth was Nigel thinking! Poor Pauline (and
Peter too), to leave with such harsh words said about her.
Here's hoping Alexie makes it next year and actually doesn't get thrown under the bus (she is such a beautiful dancer). |

I think he was saying that mainstream
amurrica will not get Ellenore's style. I loved it, too. Very diversified. I think it boils down to low ratings and people bitching about his constant pimpage (it's finally catching up to him) |

I didn't like Ellenore's solo this time. I loved it when she did that style in a solo before, but this time, her heart wasn't in it. The whimsical
nature of the piece was at odds with her emotional state, and it was just a bit depressing...

Ellenore FTW!
Actually... I want Ellenore, Karen, Legs to go far... Kathryn a little less. I want Nathan and Jakob around a bit longer to see if they are capable of anything more. Victor I want around for all the wrong reasons, I suppose. |

I finally watched this week's eps last night after reading the thread the last counple of days and seeing the comments about Nigel reaching a new level of
douchebaggery. I agree that Nigel was OTT in his preaching to Nathan and if there is any monster that has been created by this show it is Nigel.
I actually really liked Nigel in the first 2 seasons. Season 3 he really started m.orphing into the asshole manipulative control freak (or just being more blatant about it). Season 4 I began to hate Nigel and he is just getting worse and worse. He has ruined this show. Nigel created the monster that is Nathan/Molle and now he is trying to destroy it? His comments made me wonder if perhaps Nathan has been throwing around an ego behind the scenes. I don't know, because Nigel is known as an asshat, so who knows what the true motivation for Nigel's attack of Nathan is. I never got on the Nathan obsession train. I think he's a very cute kid and a pretty good dancer, but that is about it. Nigel was the one to pimp the kid up and put him out there to get all the tweens quivering with excitement. Nigel got what he wanted, an overrated tween heartthrob who will sail to the finals. So, why is Nigel now trying to destroy that? He's a douche. The bottom 3 guys, I really didn't care which one was booted as none of them impressed me. I was a little bummed that Nigel took out the last of the tappers, though. The three were just used and abused this season. Too bad for them. The bottom 3 girls, OTOH, I was really disappointed with as I liked all three of them. I wish it were Mollee/Channing/Russell's partner in the bottom instead. I was bummed Pauline was booted, but I also didn't want to lose Ellenore or Karen. I am rooting for Karen & Ellenore for the girls and Russell, Jakob & Victor for the guys. Unfortunately, I think the only ones the judges really want to keep of these are Russell & maybe Jakob. Oh and I am sick of Ryan's OTT "see how masculine & hetero I am?" clips. I can't stand the douchebag and he is the worst ballroom guy that has ever been on this show. I am beginning to wonder if he is overcompensating. He seems to be way too OTT trying to prove his masculinity. Sorry for the rant. I just couldn't stop typing. I feel like Nomii's avi right about now. |
