Heather Locklear's lips looks weird.
Yes, her whole mouth is bizarre looking. Obviously way too much botox or some other plastic surgery gone awry.

Her vs. Ella should be awesome. |

Think about it. "90210" is a better fit for the CW. It's like watching an episode of "The Hills." Melrose is a bit darker and the characters aren't in high school so no one from the main audience can identify with any of the characters. I think the bulk of people watching "Melrose" were fans of the original, and only a few people joined in as new viewers. That's what I'm worried about...I'm afraid all the people who would actually care about Heather Locklear coming back to "Melrose Place" are probably already watching. Any new viewers who regularly watch the type of shows they air on the CW are probably wondering why they should care about some old lady joining the cast. It can't be a good sign that the episode that aired one week before the hyped return of Amanda got the lowest ratings the show has seen so far all season. I wonder just how far the CW is willing to go to save this show. If Heather's return doesn't change the ratings, will we get a cancellation announcement right away? Will they wait to see what happens after their planned lighter-toned, Ashlee Simpson-less re-vamp in January? Perhaps try moving it to another night? |

This show would need to be moved to a new network, actually. It has no hope otherwise on The CW.

^^^I don't think Melrose is that much darker than 90210 though. I think the writers have dropped the ball on the murder mystery. Several of the main
characters aren't polarizing enough to warrant absolute hate or love, and that is essential to a soap opera.

whats the ratings of Melrose compared to GG? If they cancel this, what are they going to replace it with? Since its made it this far, I highly doubt they would
cancel this midway through the second half of the season.

I hate Kristin on E!, but she did have two new preview clips I hadn't seen before, and the one in the middle goes a little longer than we've seen, with
a nice 'manhours' joke.

Okay those three clips alone are like 100x better than anything on the entire Melrose Place 2.0 we've seen so far.

Bored here at work today, so I did a Yahoo News search for "Melrose Place", came up with a few different interviews and stories about Heather
Locklear's return. Not much else new, but a few small tidbits:
~ There will, at some point at least, be an explanation given as to how Amanda got from having faked her death at the end of the old MP to being where she is now on the new series, why she isn't with Peter anymore, and possibly how she was able to overcome that murder wrap from the original shows last season. So it won't be a situation like with Jane's return where there is no mention made of her circumstances when the old show ended. ~ Locklear confirms that it was originally the producers plan to have Amanda's body found floating dead in the pool during the pilot episode, not Laura Leighton's Sydney. This was the main reason why she declined to return to MP when she was originally contacted early on, because she felt that it was better for the character to be off the show and alive than on the show and dead. ~ In the pilot episode, it was purposely decided upon to have the name of Ella's PR firm be WPK just in case the producers were able to get Locklear to return, so the "W" could stand for "Woodward". ~ Amanda will be taking a particular interest in Michael's son David. There will also apparently be some repurcussions for Michael for having helped Amanda & Peter fake their deaths at the end of old MP. ~ She wants them to make Amanda's skirts on the new series even shorter than they are now, but is worried that if she asks the wardrobe department to do it they'll be "mortified". The fact that it was originally supposed to be Amanda killled-off instead of Sydney really makes me wonder what they originally had planned for Ashlee Simpson/Violet. Was Violet still supposed to be Sydney's daughter even though Sydney wasn't originally going to be a part of the show? They've already pointed out Violet's likeness to Sydney so I doubt the character was originally going to be Amanda's long-lost daughter. |

It must be so much fun to be a Melrose writer--just coming up with crazy zingers for Amanda all day and not caring how realistic it was.
Definitely a short-sighted decision. Viewers would have tuned out for good if they ever killed off Amanda... Hopefully Vanessa gets a crazy scene before she's arrested... Yes, but I suspect they would have also made her Michael's daughter in order to tie her into other characters.... P.S. Amanda totally hired the Melissa girl to test Ella's loyalty.

Good episode tonight--Amanda starting to stir things up and Ella being the focus of the show as she's the best of the new characters. Ashlee's scenes kept to a bare minimum--why oh why didn't they do a better job casting crazy Violet?!!! Looking forward to two weeks from now when Amanda and Michael meet up. |

I'm sad that Caleb is not gonna be on anymore but of course Amanda's awesomeness more than makes up for it. But it still sucks.
Ella and that one girl kissing = hot. I'm liking Lauren + David. They're 100x better than Jonah and Riley. I used to say Ashlee wasn't AS terrible as everyone else was saying (even though she was bad), but... yes... she REALLY is THAT bad. Now we wait for the ratings. I'm guessing the bump in the 18-49 demo will only be like 0.2. |
