It pairs with the gradual shift from a NNNNN edit to his first P episode. The audience is supposed to start to think he deserves it, as well as start to love him.

Jaison also had the earlier confessional about how proud he was of Natalie and how much she has grown throughout the game. I thought it was interesting that he had thoughts like these about Russell and Natalie in the same episode. Personally I think its a bit of a setup of a hard choice for Jaison between the two of them at the final tribal council.

I'm backing anyone who thinks Jaison, Russell H, and Natalie's edits >> Mick's edit in terms of a potential winner. Visibility wise, yes, Mick has been more consistent. But of the Foa Foa four he's easily the least developed and easily the least relevant to the storyline. His edit = not meaningful.

By this time during Gabon, we were shown Bob making his fake immunity idol, which is strategy. We were also shown Bob befreinding Sugar, and making a bond with her, which we all know turned out to be important. Based on how many surviors are left, this would be the episode where Randy went home. Bob also played a big part in that, which was considered strategy. This episode in Gabon was a very important episode for Bob. Once again Mick gets a shitty, worthless , unimportant edit, and your]e still desperatly holding on for dear life. Strategy has always been very important when it pertains to Survivor. And like I said before, if they don't focus on that, they'll focus on the good guy edit. Mick's not getting anything. I'm begining to think Russel might actually win again, but if he doesn't, it will be Natalie for sure. Once again, her episodes continue to improve every week. Jaison talking about how she has progressed is simular to Sugar and Susie talking about how smart Bob was.

I don't think this season they'd give a winner complete visibility/complexity from the merge on because it started on E8 which is pretty early for 20-people seasons. Having too much visibility (RH) or too little (Nat) is a problem--being somewhere in the middle, overall, is a good place to be. I'm not sure I'm holding onto dear life. I'm still not sure how, EDGICALLY, Natalie's edit trumps Micks. RussH not really, but like RDW said, he is one-of-a-kind.. I think the best arguements over Mick are for Jaison.

Amen there. I mean who else had a 2 or lower post-merge on there boot episode? Erik (China), Michelle (Fiji), that's all I think. All the other 1s and 2s in their boot episodes were pre-merge (Ashlee, Brooke, Rebecca, Sherea, YauMan (FVF)) (sorry for all my posts so close together, I just like pointing out interesting things) Oh one more thing, with this episode, Brett now has sole possession of 2nd all time for most consecutive 1s. One more to tie Natalie (FVF).

There are edgic-ers who just look at MOR/UTR/CP/OTT/INV etc, etc...and tone. Then there are those of us that look at the overall theme of the edits. For instance, blatant giving Natalie SO much credit for the boot of Erik in the recap paired with the rat scene this episode > than anything we've seen about Mick thus far. Sure, she had an INV, but I think it's foolish to not look at the overall thematic edits...and the fact that Mick is completely lacking a theme.

SFC, it's NOT just my opinion. There are others here with the same opinion. And the editors (and Probst) have hyped up this "greatest villain ever" since before the show started. He may be part of the underdog FFs but he's hardly getting a P edit like Natalie and Jaison in the last two episodes. Those two and Mick are the only players the viewers are happy to see saved week after week. Well she's certainly not my favorite, but she's above middle ground with me. If you must know I voted P for her in episodes 1, 3, 6, and 8 (I think, maybe I only voted P 3 times). Anyways I'm just a lot better now at separating personal likeness with edited intention. I don't know why I'm taking this so seriously seeing as I'm not exactly a fan of yours (no offense)

We've had majority picks of Amanda, Peih Gee, Jonathan (wow), Eliza (for multiple weeks over super obvious Parvati), Marcus, Kenny, Sierra & Stephen. I'm telling you that Mick is going to join all of them. We keep making the same mistakes over and over and over because a lot of you guys will NOT think outside of the box. I'd rather pick Russell H. even if it's "not Edgic", then pick someone like Mick, who apparently "is Edgic" -- along with Marcus, Kenny, Sierra, Jonathan, Eliza & Stephen. Yeah okay. And no offense, but I feel like it's always the same majority that keeps picking these people. Cos so many of you really cannot think outside the box. A wrong winner pick is a wrong winner pick, it doesn't matter if it was me picking Cassie or you guys picking Stephen, Marcus & Eliza. Wrong is wrong, there's only one winner. If Mick is #1, why aren't Jaison & Shambo right up there with him? If we're only supposed to be looking at people with no INV's and no high visibility, those are the only other 2 that come close, yet Jaison's support has mainly only been recent and Shambo's died off weeks ago? Like I said, we're 2 episodes into the merge and the only person who has had less post-merge airtime thus far than Mick is... Brett.

I find it funny that people are suddenly acting like looking at the way someone is portrayed in the recap is suddenly a novel consideration as far as edgic is concerned. There have always been edgic-ers who look at stuff like that when making judgments about winning edits...including you and Blake. Just because I choose to call the way she's portrayed a "theme" doesn't mean it's irrelevant. The fact is Russell, Jaison, and Natalie have far more manipulated edits (and yes...thematic). I don't think that should go ignored...even here.

Then through out the episode, we saw him show her the fake idol , we saw him talking to Randy, and giving him the fake idol, convincing him it was real. We saw Matt say, " We need to take out Bob first, he'll win this game if we don't". (BIG FUCKING CLUE) We saw more than a few Bob confessionals explaining his gameplay, and tricking Randy in order to gain Sugars trust and loyalty. " You better make it worth my while" Sugar - "oh, I will" (That was an understatement). WOuld you like me to carry on? He was not a great player, but the editors focused on every little thing he did, and they put a magnifying glass on it. I'm glad you've come to your senses on Natalie, but Russel trumps him too. I'm not in to this nick name shit you guys use here, I'm just using common sense, like I said before. I'll fix the grammar. I just typed fast, and didn't pay attention to it. In all honesty, you haven't had the best record in your "outside the box" picks (no, that wasn't a dig). I'm just saying that there is thinking close-mindedly and thinking radically. There has to be some middle ground. The problem is that this season has... interesting editing, to say the least. Either people are going to pick a winner who is pretty flat but edgically in there, or edgically wild with unique content. I think if we stick to the purpose of this thread, which is basing our picks off past patterns, we really should go for Mick or Jaison. As of now, the majority is for Mick, so I guess I can't complain too much. I hope Sham pulls an OTTWTF win and everyone is put to shame (except OTH, sorta)!

The merge was when Charlie left, in Episode 9. I think you're also confused in what I said about Natalie: "I'm still not sure how, EDGICALLY, Natalie's edit trumps Micks." I most definitely didn't come to "any senses".
