Would they have had enough votes to split them anyway?

Split the votes no, but they sure could've changed targets to Natalie, Jaison or Mick! That would've worked as long as they didn't tell Shambo the
Sugar/Dre spawn of Samoa.

What they should have done(and who knows if they did or didn't due to editing) was go to Foa Foa and act like they were targetting there own. For the most part it seems like the 2 tribes went into there own corners and started to strategize. |

No help in splitting their votes anyway. What they needed to do is let slip (presumably to Shambro) that Russel was going. Then throw their votes at one of the
other Foa Foa members. The idol get's flushed (again), and they don't lose one of Galu.
I don't see how Galu is playing this smart at all. Pre-merge they were edited as a tribe divided, now all of a sudden they are a tribe seemingly unified (save for Shambro who is playing both sides (if one can call what she does "playing")). If they want to rid themselves of Foa Foa they need to get rid of someone other than Russel first (at this point they can assume he has the idol and if they continue to play it the way they have, they'll be riding the pine at Ponderosa). Eliminate the Foa Foa voting block and then you can split votes between two Foa Foas to flush the idol and still not lose a member. Foa Foa isn't playing it any smarter. I understand breaking up the Galu girls, but they have to view eliminating Monica as a higher priority as she is Laura's wingman. |

Either way they couldn't split their votes anyway, Monica had a dumb suggestion.
But yeah Dave was dumb to not think that. But Foa Foa idolling Kelly out benefitted the guys of Galu since Laura's power is weakened. ETA: Voting out Kelly was the better choice. All the guys of Galu were already targeting Monica but Kelly wasn't targeted by anyone at all. |

It didn't fuckin matter whether they knew if Russell had or could have the idol.....even if they decided to vote Natalie, fuckin Shambro would have went
right back to Russell, and Natalie would have pulled the idol........Dave may or may not be a moron, but no one on Galu knows that Shambro is leaking info, so
there screwed!

The Galu girls hate Shambro, and the Galu guys were just using her to eliminate the girls. Black Russel sent her over to Foa Foa... twice. If they don't
suspect her of colluding with Foa Foa, then they truly are idiots. Looking at the voting so far they are well aware that she hasn't voted accurately yet.
So if they haven't been cluing her into what's been happening so far, why start now??? Tell her Russel is going. Whether or not she leaks the info to
Foa Foa is irrelevant. Russel has to suspect he is the primary target, he plays the idol and they vote out Jaison/Mick/Natalie.

I would have preferred that Dave went home but that would be a waste since he's not a strategic threat.

He does come out looking like an idiot. However that was only the first chance they blew. The second was they didn't notice Foa Foa had stopped scrambling
at all, and all Galu assumed one of the most ridiculous things ever. That Foa Foa being quiet meant they had given up. Come on! Why the hell do you assume that
on Survivor? That was a slip-up by Foa Foa not to put up a fake fight, and Galu could have caught the hint if they had a brain in there anywhere.

You people are ridiculous. What are they supposed to do? Never vote for Russell? Chances were slim to none that someone without a clue could find it. Within
those awful odds, if someone did find it, Russell had a 1 in 11 chance of being that person.
Without these bullshit twists, Dave Ball would have great odds to win, especially since Foa Foa hates the girls. |

His TC reactions made me lolz, but he really disappointed me this episode. When Monica can be more strategically savvy than someone, its not a good epi for
that "someone." That someone this episode being Dave. = /

Everybody seems to have the idea that Monica was right and Dave was wrong and I don't think its that simple. Monica does bring up the HII factor and yeah
Dave says he doesn't think Russell has it. But its not like they have to listen to him or that it was even his idea to vote Russell off first. He follows
it up by saying something to the likes of "we can vote for Russell first then Natalie (to which Monica even says "I'm fine with that order")
boom, or vice versa and vote Natalie than Russell." And then we hear Laura say "I say Russell first" and then a 2nd female voice says "I
say Russell" and I'm pretty sure that 2nd voice was Monica again.
So yeah...not Dave's fault but the group's fault. If anything Monica's judgement might be a little worse because she says Russell first while we just hear Dave explore options. You shouldn't really get any kudos points for bringing up the HII factor when you don't even follow through on that rationale. Btw, judging from that scene the one person who was really deadset on doing Russell first was definetly Laura. The rest were thinking out loud and didn't really have their minds made up yet, except for Laura. And if anybody is wondering, yeah I did watch that scene a little too closely, including to listening to slow motion dialogue. >_> |

^ Best first post ever. Big red x and all that shit.
And shadcat, Kelly did say that Dave was one of the masterminds behind the Erik boot too (I think she gave the other credit to Natalie) so he probably did. You realise they do EDIT the show right? Dave is still one of my favourites and I totally think people are putting too much blame on him for the Russell vote. It was one conversation out of how many, and like Valisun said, his group was deadset on Russell - Dave didn't say NO WE'RE NOT VOTING FOR NATALIE, he said he didn't mind either way. Plus his tribal reactions were so epic <3 |

Well if they edit that out for Dave then it's probably not good for him ;o

Valisun, I think it's more that we in general haven't cared about Monica but have taken to Danger Dave so it was Dave letting us down not Monica doing
anything positive.
