S19 - Episode 10 - Story Arcs |

Sounds like the HII is arcing..........

They need a better place to hide it. My kids could have located the spots around camp. They need to hide it in the jungle where they actually need clues to
find it. Now that FatRuss is out of the woods they probably do.
Well played by F-F and especially by Shambo. Galu does not realize they are 5-5 at best. Laura is toast as soon as she loses. |

I am not sure, next time Russ will probably win reward and the clue will include a "NOW" phone along with GPS location for the HII.
Will Brett ever have a story? |

Defying the Odds | ||

We seem to have an overlying arc of defying the odds. Realistically, the Foa 4 should be toast. But they get saved by idols and cockiness and poor strategy by
Galu. Can the Foa 4 be the FINAL 4? Either way, I think we have a F3 TC with 9 jurors.

Anyone doubts Russell will find the next idol? It pisses me off. I was pissed at Dave for not listening to Monica and voting Russell after all. The story of
the minority reaching the end is getting old.

Wasn't Dave's point that they couldn't have covered the 4 F-F votes and still voted someone out? Brett's story will be at about the 3/4 hour mark of the ep he gets axed.

That's true, but wasn't Monica trying to get them to cover the vote?
Wasn't the boot order FatRuss, Natalie, Mick and last Jaison? |

They should have just voted for one of the others. Exactly! If they had any inkling that Russell had the idol, and them not having enough votes to split and cover their butts, why didn't they just say screw it and vote out one of Natalie, Mick, or Jaison?! Stupid. |

Of course, chances are good that spy-in-the-house-of-love Shambo would have tipped off Foa Foa no matter which one of them Galu settled on. So it ultimately
wouldn't have made a difference. But yes, the better move was for Galu to target someone other than Russell on Foa Foa. It wouldn't have worked, but
they wouldn't have looked quite so hapless. Even better would have been for them to target someone else, and not tell Shambo the real target. That would have worked (they had the votes for it, too).

Another great episode. I found Laura's response to Russell's HII revealing to be interesting (e.g., "stirred up a pot of hell"). It was almost as if she was mad at him. Erik's was better - the fist pump. One central unresolved question for the season is what kind of jury this will be -- vindictive or rewarding of strategic prowessness? |

Laura does not know how closely Shambo is tied to the F-F. She probably figures it's 5-4-1 at worst? Shambo is on a 'need to know' basis with the
rest of Galu, but her votes make her seem loyal. Had she sided with F-F last night as I'm sure she wanted to, it would be a different story. Even if it
were 5-4-1 they should still be able to make a plan to come out on top. It's not, but the ability to count is not a great Galu asset.

If Shambo jumps as a surprise at Tribal, it gives foa-foa a huge edge as Russell or Mick will probably be targeted, whereas foa-foa expecting the tie would
target Monica so you'd have Moniva vs Russell/Mick in the tiebreaker challenge.
Russell will give Shambo a F3 promise in order to get her to switch. He'd live up to it because she's a great goat, Natalie is playing too well in the social game. Galu should see her flip coming, especially if she isn't asking about F3 alliances. The boys might buy the story that she'd be happy with 4th place as long as she stays longer than Laura and Monica, with the chance to compete in the F4 immunity - that would be the story she should try to sell. |

galu should have done a repeat of their previous TC intentions (before the decision to boot Erik). They'd decided to make it clear they were booting
Russell to force him to play the Idol, then vote for Jaison instead. They were able to keep that secret from Shambo as she and Erik still voted for Jaison.
that's all it would have taken for this TC. make it clear Russ is going, so shambo tells russell, then the others all vote out Jaison (or mick or natalie). HII used, FoaFoa is down to only 3 members. End of story. |

JT4ever wrote:That would have been the way to do it! They tell Shambo they're voting Mick (or whoever), but they all vote for Natalie (or whoever else). Then either Russell plays the idol himself, or Shambo rats them out and he gives the idol to Mick, but either way Natalie goes home and the idol is gone. And they get the added benefit of being able to tell whether Shambo squealed or not by who played the idol. That would've killed 3 birds with 1 stone. |

They'd decided to make it clear they were booting Russell to force him to play the Idol, then vote for Jaison instead. If they made it clear they were voting for Russell, then Foa would know they probably weren't voting for Russell. However, they wouldn't know exactly who to give the idol to. They probably want to target Natalie because she's more social than the others. But does it matter? They're going to keep dropping idols into Russell's lap, hoping that maybe Galu will wake up. |

The HII has more of a storyline than Brett.
Unfortunately I see the guy leaving pretty soon with little to no more airtime than he's already received. From what we've collected with Kelly, they had a solid alliance together that was never shown. Kelly didn't get any airtime because her role in the game was minimal. She was a Galu tribe member and that was it. The only reason why she's gotten more airtime than Brett is because she's gone on rewards and she's a small part of the women's alliance over at old Galu. Brett was the invisible part of the men's group but he was overshadowed by bigger personalities (John, Erik, Dave). He'll be going soon unless he does something drastic which puts his name on the game's map. So far he's just been coasting through. I don't see the latter happening. Catalie was at least x10 more present than Brett is right now. |
