They didn't seem nearly as upset as the season 2 people about the 13th look. Remember Chloe almost had a nervous breakdown? It's like they were prepared for that and already had an idea if they happened. Yawn.

I kept thinking why can't they all be like Jeffrey and have their collections finished? Don't they know they won't have much time once in NY? I
don't get it why they have all those months and they show up with unfinished work.

Okay really they had to stretch this out into two hours? I skipped over the dinner eating parts... boring. Irina is evil. She is getting a really bad edit,
even knowing that I hope she doesn't win. I just don't like her. Plus who makes a t-shirt for a runway show? At least the others have variety in colors
too. At this point I am rooting for CH or Althea.

So the finale is next week or do we get the reunion first?

It was such an über amateur mistake to take copy written (or otherwise) claimed art and use it with out permission. I really think that is basic business 101.
How hard would it have been for her to take her own images?

I thought Tim said she couldn't use images of Coney Island at all because she didn't design Coney Island. I don't think taking her own pictures Of
it was an option. But seriously those t-shirts sucked. Gah!
Just get this season done with already--no reunion please. |

Irina has this competition all sewed up. Her collection was the only one to receive faint positive praise. They other two collections were widely panned. This is the first season were critics and the press were underwhelmed by the Project Runway Fashion week collections. |

I wish that when Michael Kors and NinaGarcia dropped by, the designers had said "Who the hell are you?" It's weird that the season where those
two had the LEAST to do with the show is the one where they come back to give the designers a "pep talk"...
cginspace wrote: This. I was shocked that Tim didn't bring up Liza. I fully expected him to. Chances are, though, that it's ill-fitting piece that makes the breasts look droopy, in which case, it's probably more Lorna Luft... |

So, what's the consensus? Did this season suck because the designers were devoid of personality and talent? Or did the Lifetime production company somehow
manage to suck the life out of the show?

I say combination of location (which meant lots of stupid challenges and horrible judging) and the worst cast ever.

Nina was on Craig Ferguson the other night and said next season they are back in NYC and she & Michael K are back on a regular basis as judges. Perhaps
that will improve things as well. But yeah, sucky sucky cast. I really don't want Irina to win for her 'tude and her all-black collection.

I think this cast was better than the last one. I never got the joy of Kenley, and although I liked Leanne's clothes, she wasn't much of a character...
This season sucked because the designs were bad. Plain and simple. About half of the weeks, there shouldn't have even been a winner. They should have all
just been considered the bottom group...

This season sucked because the designers sucked ass and NinaGarcia and Michael Kors were MIA. I really could care less about the personalities. I watch for
the creativity and there was none this season.

This season sucked. Just because. And I am generally NOT one of those who whines about things not being what they once were. I actually blame Jonathan Murray
most. As Exec Producer, he was behind all of it: casting, editing, choice of challenges, location of the show. He messed up on every single angle. Trying to
turn it into "the Real World" with all the bitchiness (instead of just small snippets or one bitchy Kenley in the mix) didn't help any; but it
cannot be blamed on one mistake. There were several huge errors.

Yep...I like to see lots of "creative process" and little-to-no apartment living. I hardly recall seeing any sketching this time, and the Mood
segments were slapdash.

I am confused. I thought the show was produced indepedently of what network aired it. I thought production was complete, or close to it, by the time the legal
fight started. If so I don't think it's fair to blame Lifetime. I think it would have sucked on Bravo as well.

Nope. Jonathan Murray was brought on as soon as they decided to change network. He was Exec Producer for the whole season, Drew.
From EW: Project Runway meets…The Real World? Bunim-Murray Prods, the company behind the long-running MTV series and the more recent Living Lohan, is in serious negotiations to take over Runway once it moves from Bravo to Lifetime this fall, according to a key insider. The producing gig opened up in May after Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz of Magical Elves announced they were stepping down from Runway after season 5 (beginning July 16) because they signed an exclusive first-look deal with NBC/Universal. News of their deal came less than a month after Lifetime announced that it nabbed future seasons of Runway away from Bravo. Cutforth and Lipsitz had been responsible for the award-winning Runway since its inception. |
