Only way the game would be rigged if they tie everyone else around a tree except Russel so he is the only one looking for the idol. He is the only one looking for it, all the other Foas are just laying in the stupid shelter like sitting ducks.X Russell rules all! |

Give credit to Russell and Eric for looking for the idols. The rest of the players don't seem to think the idol is important or they're just too lazy
to look for it..

He's strategic in the sense that yea looking for an idol without a clue is a smart idea. Actually finding an idol with no clue is more luck than strategy,
but the idea behind it is a genius one.
On the other hand, I don't think he's some strategic genius. He rubs people the wrong way and if this jury is bitter (which they will be, imo) than he is fucked up the river without a paddle. I do believe there are people still in the game who are playing better than he is. |

Russell knows that he has a target on his back and isn't making friends with Galu, but what else can he do? Should he just sit back and let them vote out
Foa Foa? I don't think anyone can play Survivor and go against their basic personality. Russell is a doer, and there is no way he could bring himself to be
an UTR player. He's going to win or fail, but at least he's going down fighting. I respect that, and some of the jurors might, too. If the choice is
between someone who played hard and someone who road coattails, I'd vote for the person who played hard.

It's the whole Todd vs Amanda argument. Todd showed he was the planner, the schemer, the doer. Amanda seemed like the tagalong and the follower, so people
respected Todd's gameplay more and the voted for him. People tend to vote for people that make moves..... it's easier on the psyche to lose to a
"good player" than someone who was dragged along for the ride.

All the Foa Foa's have targets on their back being in the minority though. I don't think throwing immunities or seeming weak is a good strategy, so I commend him on fighting his ass off and trying to remain safe. However he CAN try to make friends with Galu he just isn't. A good player is one who is a sneaky rat and NO one knows about it. All these people know Russell is a sneaky fuck. If this were ten seasons ago and the hidden immunity idol never existed, you know where Russell would be? In 11th Place.

Yup. But in this case, if it comes down to Russell v. Natalie, I can see Laura, Monica and Natalie voting against Russell for being "mean". Same with
Brett, who seems to be more allied with the girls than the guys. Who knows what Mick and Jaison think? And Shambo is a total wild card. So it's something
of a dangerous strategy, but I just can't see Russell (or Todd) just sitting back and seeing what happens.

It depends on your way of looking at the game Lauren. I think he is playing FAR from a perfect game, but he's doing what he can with what he has. His game
has evolved from the early episodes where he was trying to stir up crap and be the mastermind. Now he's tight with his other 3, and playing every angle to
get an advantage (being friendly with Shambo when she was feeling left out of her tribe). He's basically turned an 8-4 defecit to a 5-5 tie. No small feat.

I mean if you want to be technical, Yul managed to turn the game in his favor just by having possession of the HII. He never even had to PLAY it.
Russell has not only had TWO but USED TWO and we've only been to two tribal councils since the tribes merged. Granted Yul was at a 5-4 deficit and Russell was at an 8-4 deficit. I just dont understand all the hype. He's playing a good game yes, but quite a few of them are playing a good game so who gives a fuck? Like I said, if this idol never existed he would be the second jury member. I don't think its smart for ANYONE to play a game where they rely on finding the idol. What if he didn't find it? He'd be fucked, then how "good" was his strategy. |

Then you are saying that his tribe losing all of those immunity challenges early on were his fault? No matter how good or bad of a player you are, if your
tribe sucks at challenges, you are fucked.
Yes, he survived because he had two idols, but at least he got off his ass and took a chance on searching for them. No one else did that, so he saved himself that way. I'm sure he'd rather be in the majority as opposed to relying on finding idols, but fate didn't deal him that hand. He's doing what he is able to do given his situation. And I disagree on many of them playing a good game. The rest of Foa Foa sucks ass, and most of Galu sucks as well strategically and socially. Ripping Erik when he is on the jury listening to them? That's just fucking stupid. |

I'm saying if they never existed would he be playing like he is now? I can guarantee you he wouldn't be. I don't think the rest of Foa Foa sucks ass. If Russell doesn't find the idol next episode and Galu somehow comes together as six who do you think they are going after first? My point is I think someone who is a great strategic player is someone who makes plays and does things but isn't outward about it and is more sly. Am I saying its the better way to play? Absolutely not, people appreciate different things in different people. I appreciate someone who is more sly and quiet because I think it is smarter. Others appreciate the balls out approach that Russell is taking. My point is I don't think one is better than the other which is why I don't understand all the Russell praise and the "omg hes the only one playing the game." Its VERY evident that he is NOT the only one playing the game so share the wealth with the others who are playing the game as well. |
