For fuck's sake people, get a grip.

The only non-defined game elements in Survivor are that they have a list of challenges on paper that exceeds the total number of challenges required in the game. So they are free to move challenges around due to production requirements/weather/number of castaways left, etc. This has been publicly admitted by Jeff on more than one occasion, so it's no surprise. So there is that way, that if they really wanted to save a contestant they could help with that by perhaps moving a challenge up from their roster that may favour that contestant. But that is the only option they have. As far as giving hints out or assisting a Survivor in finding the HII over anyone else, that would be opening them up to serious lawsuits if they were caught. There are fairly strict anti-corruption laws for game shows, I think even under the harshes penalties shows can lose their broadcast license if it is determined that they are deliberately rigging the game in favour of one player over another. I hardly doubt that any cameraman working for an hourly wage is going to put himself on the line with that responsibility, and any producer who would walk out and tell Russell anything would likewise be committing career suicide. All it would take is one Survivor to talk.

Back on S1 apparently they flirted with this idea, making suggestions as to who to vote out or something, but Stacey Stillman ratted them out and I'm sure things came to a head and they learned their lesson by almost being sued out of their license. I highly doubt they would do anything to jeopardize their cash cow at this point.

Anyhow, keep dreaming. Russell found the idols because he decided to look for them. Has nobody else even watched the show? I've said ever since the first season where they had an HII that if I ever went on the show I would assume there was one and would start looking the day I got there, with or without a clue. And each time one was played I would assume it would go right back in, just as it always had. Russell's just the only one thinking ahead and using his downtime wisely.
