Galu messing up their humongous majority is an absolute embarrassment, but to be fair this finding idol without clues business is quite revolutionary and I
think their gameplay is still less atrocious than Timbira's last season.

They sent their tribe's obvious outsider - and already the biggest threat to flip - to live with Foa Foa more than once (the second time against her wishes
and very unsympathetically), then kept her past the point at which they had a two person majority. Game over.

I really want to see a tie vote. We haven't had a tie vote before final 4 for ages.

They could've planned for the idol better and kept Shambo more welcome, but that's not as bad as the Timbira morons where the Brendan/Sierra and Coach/Tyson/Debbie factions battled each other for the privilege of taking JT to the finals to win while Erinn was the only smart person in that shithole and just flat-out joined the Jalapaos to help them get control of the game. Ulong was merely inept as hell, but at least they tried, especially Stephenie post-"merge". Rotu's arrogance cost them, while Galu underestimated the competition. Even Sook Jai's destructive infighting wasn't nearly as bad as Timbira's, because at least the Sook Jais weren't trying to flat-out give the game to Brian, even though that's exactly what they did. Timbira didn't even fucking play to win, they played to let JT win, and cannibalized themselves to do it. That is why Timbira is and will probably always be the worst tribe in Survivor history. |

That's the strange thing about Galu, I don't see much infighting. In fact what I see is a lot of hubris: We are up in numbers, you are useless to us,
we will vote you out without actually considering all facets of the game (such as Natalie remaining loyal to Foa Foa, such as Shamu flipping, such as Russell
finding the next idol, soooo many things they didn't bother to consider).
In fact, I still believe fully that Galu's main issue post merge is people thinking they are playing the game hard when the only vote they had to cast was Yasmin, up to this point. They had Jaison gone with Russell's idol pulled yet somehow, some way, they turned that huge advantage into Erik and Kelly being gone, Russell having another idol, what appears to be a 5-5 tie at F10. Should tribes not just follow through? If you have a majority on your tribe, do you really want to lose that? Even if you are at the BOTTOM of your majority, all you need is a couple people from the other tribe and the person standing next to you who is also at the bottom of the tribe to make a move at 7/8. -SJ™ |

a major factor was russell from galu leaving, he would have kept them strong together... but laura might have switched over to foa foa if he was still in

If Gabon had merged at ten and Kota been up six to Fang's four, I seriously doubt Susie would have flipped. I like her and I think she was a great player,
but she would have been forcing a 5-5 tie, and even though Sugar had the idol, it probably wouldn't be very clear who Kota was going to target, so there
would be a lot of risk invovled in figuring out who the idol should have been given to. We know in hind-sight that Kota wanted to target Crystal first at the
merge, which isn't as likely of a choice as Matty or Ken.
Fang was helped out greatly by the F10 swap. Susie might not have wanted to risk a 5-5 tie, even with the idol, but being the swing vote in a tribe of five makes things much less risky. |

It seems like any alliance of more than 3 people is unstable, and most alliances in this game are dyads. Any of those groups of 2 or 3 can unify or disconnect
at any time. That's the real fluidity in forming majority coalitions.
I was surprised that Kelly said her closest ally in the game was . . . Brett! I guess that makes sense, since the few glimpses we got of him seemed to show him lightly connected to both the men's and women's alliance on Galu. So maybe Galu at the merge was really Laura & Monica, Brett & Kelly, Shambo, and Dave, John and Erik (in some combination, and apparently not very tight). And at Foa Foa, it seems to be Natalie & Russell and Mick, Jaison & Russell, though at this point the four are united for common survival. When/if they get down to it, I wonder who FoaFoa would cut out first? |

It's not fire-building though is it with this many people? Its purple rock i thought.

I'm never sure about the tie-breaker rules, but I think I've read that ties before F4 will use the Purple Rock. EPMB does NOT want ties, and the threat
of the Purple Rock is a huge deterrent to going for the tie.

Survivor's tie-breakers suck. I miss the previous votes/survival questions.

I think that Kelly pretty much gave us the answer as to why Galu is destroying itself. She said that on the day of TC, all the galu were laying around
sunbathing and not thinking about the game (this was in response as to why they didn't make plans for if Russell had the idol).
That's a really arrogant and dumbass thing to do. ASSuming that the game is in the bag and will go according to your plans just because you happen to have the majority was dumb. There is always someone who is going to try to make it further than 7th place in a seven member alliance. |

If the game was played only by great players who want to win more than anything, the majority would always self-destroy since bottom-totem-pole players would
scramble and scheme their way up.
Even more so if you have a 12 people merge with a 8 people majority. |
