I just finished "The Year of the Flood" by Margaret Atwood. It was very good if you like dystopian fiction.

I just picked up Augustin Burrough's Christmas book. And Wally Lamb's Christmas book. I dunno why. I meant to re-buy David Sedaris's Christmas
book, but I fucked up.

Did you like "The White Queen"? So far, none of the subsequent books in the Tudor series comes close to measuring up to "The Other Boleyn Girl" although the last one "The Other Queen" about Mary Queen of Scots is pretty good.I liked it, it kept me reading. I haven't read any of her other books yet, but it made me want to try more of hers. |

"Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis. Very well-written, passionate, and easy to read, but so full of logical holes it could have been written on swiss
cheese. I can't imagine anyone with half a brain being converted by these shitty arguments.

Are there ever really any solid logical arguments for conversion?

The book is Lewis' attempt to persuade non-believers of the "rightness" of christianity. He knew he couldn't just say "ya gotta have
faith," and that he actually had to use something resembling cohesive and rational argument if he was going to bring doubtful folks into the fold. So
that is what he tries to do.

I just got the last book in that series when I was in Belgium, RoMa. I'm saving it for Thanksgiving break. My husband's reading the second one now.
I still think it's hilarious how every woman Blomqvist encounters wants to fuck his socks off. |

Just read Dennis Lehane's Shutter Island. I liked it so much I started Gone,
Baby, Gone. (on the advice of the clerk)

Shutter Island was crap.
Gone Baby Gone was very good. The Kenzie/Genaro series is much better than either Shutter Island or Mystic River. |

Thanks, I'll add it/them to my list.
