Ok Everyone, I know we are all sad to see FRC shut down and have our show in limbo. I wont feel totally comfortable about the safety of 4.0 until i hear an
airdate. That is just my cynical nature. I have been twittering about solitary and rewatching hulu episodes and I even think our podcast is going to make
iron on logos for tshirts available that say Save Solitary Save Val if there is enough interest from fans so let us know!
I wanted to make everyone aware that if you live in the LA area, my podcast is host a charity event that has a lot of past solitarians involved. It is going to be a great time to get everyone together in one room again. When I first started planning the event, I had no idea FRC would be shutting its doors so this is all becoming a bit bitter sweet. So far Leroy, Maureen, Nikki, and Rob Rob are confirmed with more to come! If you will be in the Los Angeles area on December 6th totally check out the event as you can meet and chat with past solitarians in person! The stars will be playing some quiz bowl style trivia, they will answer questions, you can win raffle prizes....and all proceeds go to Child United so we all feel good for helping! More information is available at our event website and we even have some free tickets to give away! Totally let me know if you guys want those iron ons.....we would design the logo to fit (similar to savesolitary.com logo) and you can but the iron on paper, use your home printer to print it up and heat transfer that bad boy onto any fabric. Seems pretty neat huh? In the meantime, I am STILL waiting to on the edge of my seat for a darn airdate! Come on FRC and have your highest rated and longest running show go out with with a roar instead of a whimper. (Edited: I moved links into my profile just to be safe)

(^^^Don't be surprised if the admins squawk about you directing people to another website, but I hope they appreciate the circumstances. You might want to
post those links in your Yuku profile just to be safe.)
I think between Val's save Solitary message and RobRob's confirmation, I'm resting easy on us seeing 4.0. I don't think it's unusual for the nets not to have their winter schedules announced yet. As far as I know, ABC hasn't even announced Lost's return date. I really think SyFy should be the network that gets deluged with save Solitary messages. FX would be fine, but SyFy just feels like the better fit. Of course NBC may soon be needing original content to fill its 10pm weeknights slot.... I wish I was in LA. Those iron ons sound cool. |

I hate having to watch for admins when its something actually relevant but you are right Piranhahaha. I moved the links to my profile.
I actually talked to the producers and they think syfy would be best as well but both Chase and Estate of Panic didnt do well on syfy even though those shows were awesome. Hopefully everyone can get syfy interested as it reaches so many homes. It isnt strange for a network to not have their winter lineup but all set in stone but with a network that is closing its doors in march....you know they have a gameplan. Even though we have gotten confirmation from several sources at FRC and in production with Solitary, I also know the FRC also has other shows in the can that will never see the light of day that they could always how over solitary.....although the shows are more following around famous dating couples and it makes me sense to have a bigger cost production of a show like solitary get aired over that (more bang for the buck). If not syfy I always thought it would fit well on G4 - even though its not as techy as the rest, they do have ninja warrior on G4 and it gets amazing ratings. Tech people (like myself) seem to really cling to something once we decide we like it. |

Well, I wouldn't worry about admins here until they actually say something. In my experience, it's only when you mess with them once they're awake
that bad things occur. It's not like this joint is something that rhymes with fwop and it's not like you're trying to sell shoes from China.
Ooooh G4 would be a good choice, although I'm not sure I've ever watched that net. As long as Solitary finds a home somewhere, I'm good. I would love to see it on a network that has a higher market penetration than FRC. Sometimes I feel like the only reason the general population isn't aware of the awesomeness that is Val is because most don't even receive FRC. As far as I know, SyFy's a first tier cable net -- everyone gets it. A couple of promotional marathons, a little advertising, and we're off the races. |

I'm glad this board isnt the same as what rhymes with fwop because we got in trouble there already because someone asked for a link to our top chef
interviews so i posted and they totally flipped and it was stupid. They don't look at things in context.
If anyone needs links the event, which will be AWESOME, they are in my profile or I can repost. Syfy has more market penetration then G4 but G4 is also growing SO fast that it isnt even funny. It might be cool to have VAL be a part of that. I will admit that I am a total game nerd and watch G4 pretty often. I dont watch Syfy as much lately but did love estate of panic. |

I watch G4 more than SyFy too, but P'ha is right, more people have SyFy. I'll be happy as long as it ends up on a channel I have.

Yeah, G4 might be a good fit as they seem to be dabbling in reality a bit more lately. They just finished their 2 Months 2 Million (2M2MM) series, about young
online poker pros living large in Vegas, which I floved. (esp. Dani "Ansky" Stern, call me, you cheeky monkey!)
Seriously, I hope Solitary finds a new home--I love it SO much I want to marry it. Composing emails to SyFy and G4 as we speak. And maybe make iron-ons available online to us non-Angelenos? ::grin:: eta: We all know FWOP is the 9th circle of hell, and should be avoided at all costs, amirite?

here here mick! 2M2MM series is totally why I was thinking G4 would make a good 2nd choice after syfy. They are really exploding lately too with websoup and
ninja warrior. It looks like they are actually looking at better programming.
I just would hate to see it fail on syfy because it looks like the sci-fi crowd watches more for the stargate and stuff and their game/reality shows are all somewhat cheesy (scare-tactics) or have a cool creepy/unique premise but die after one season (chase and estate of panic) so while their market penetration is more I dont think they really focus on their programming. We need to remember they are an offshoot of NBC/Universal and in the end are dictated by their standards which can be flawed at times. |

Never forget Mad Mad House (also DOA after one season on SciFi) one of the best RTV shows EVAH!
NEVER FORGET! |

Shoot, I'm going to start checking out G4 shows now.
Another thing to consider about SyFy is that the reason they changed the network name from SciFi is that they want to broaden their market. Similar to I think Court TV's change to TruTV; they're probably other examples. SyFy wanted to rebrand away from being strictly viewers who upon hearing that they've won a free toaster, run away in terror. So I don't think SyFy will make the same decisions that SciFi did. With Solitary, they'd have a great scifi-ish tie-in to HAL and the "experiment" and the "treatments" would appeal to their core audience while still airing some really creative hardcore reality TV. Still, I don't know that I've watched SyFy since BSG ended. The Caprica prequel maybe? I don't have a dog in the fight, but am simply hoping that there is a fight. Regardless, it's so nice to have Solitary back on page 1! ETA: I didn't know SyFy was NBC/Universal, but consider that while broadcast NBC is spinning into the water, cable/satellite USA is kicking serious Nielsen ass right now.

oh man I love the Mad Mad House. I rewatched it on Hulu a few months ago. Such an interesting concept and a bit strange and still filled with typical reality
drama. Agh the good days of reality tv where there was variety.....like the joe schmo reality show...that was great too!
It seems like all the interesting or unique reality shows like solitary get kicked to the wayside.....but look at the rest of television too....kind of the same way. I hate all these celeb shows and just following people around shows.... ok off to twitter syfy and G4 for my weekly dose of "pick up solitary!" to them. |

They are still producing the episodes of Solitary so there will not be an announced air date until that is complete. If we take my season 3.0's schedule,
they finished the episodes in early December and that is when we saw the first commercials announcing the Jan 17th premier. With nothing to back it up, my gut
tells me were probably on target for the same schedule that 3.0 had.
Nowacki, I'll take one of your Save Solitary iron ons. :-) |

I only have two names of survivor contestants that I can disclose at the moment........Michael Bortone from Survivor Micronesia and Alexis Johnson from
Survivor Micronesia. More survivor names to be announced. If you want up to date stars attending, they are all up on the event website http://realitystartrivia.wordpress.com (hopefully the admins
dont hate me).
We really appreciate all the support and are glad to organize and event that helps a great cause. |

Fans of Katie K. (Season 3, Pod 3) should check out Drive-By Chronicles: Sidewayz, an indie movie she's featured in. It's... alright... considering the
budget and a couple of the actors - Katie included - show some talent. Don't expect it to be ground-breaking stuff. The dialogue alone completely ruins
some scenes in fact, but it's tolerable even at its worst moments and has enough memorable scenes peppered in to make it worth the time. Solitary fans
might especially enjoy the scene where Katie's character deals (or doesn't deal, as it were) with a spider... deja vu all over again!
Also, that Reality Star Trivia link is pretty dead now. Don't treat Wordpresses as disposable! Keep them there for posterity's sake!

Regarding the Reality Star Trivia event, The non-profit org IBG, Inc. decided to cancel the event at the last minute after all the contracts were signed and we
all purchased plane tickets with our own money. So we all got screwed and they wont even refund our money. I will never work with IBG again or attend any
event of theirs and I suggest everyonen else do the same.
