I might sorta like Russell if the show wasn't desperate for the viewers to like him. I can't stand when they shove players down our throats.

This. I've tried to be a good little Suckster and not be influenced by obvious editing tricks, but it turned into reverse psychology for me. They keep hammering down how smart and evil Russell is, and I see him as nothing more than an overrated pussy dumbass. Even if he pulls off good moves, I'll still be blinded with hatred and cry bullshit due to prior overkillage. |

I know he will not make it to the end, but he sure has done more than everyone in this season.Hell, he's already done more than most winners have. |

Sshaaz wrote: Just because they have decided to make this The Russell Show doesn't mean he's the only one playing the game. Just like Rupert wasn't actually a nice cuddly teddy bear, and Sugar was a sweet pleasure to be around, and any number of other bullshit they've tried to skew with editing. As long Russell keeps up his idiotic "I keep saying the same stupid insults in my confessionals and cackle like I'm the most amazing thing ever heh heh heh" crap, I will keep up with despising him. He was actually tolerable for a bit this last episode when he forgot to play his character for a minute. |

I'm pretty sure if they wanted to make Rupert a nice cuddly teddy bear, they wouldn't have included the clips of him being selfish and going apeshit on
Fairplay.

The characters actually had depth and weren't the 100% perfect caricatures the crew wanted them to be. It'd be nice if they showed more sides of Russell than the "RAWR I'M RUNNING THIS SHIT HAR HAR HAR LOOK AT MY TINY DICK" we had to endure until the merge came and Russell suddenly lost what miniscule power he had. Sad thing is, Jaison and maybe even Natalie are better strategists than Russell. But Russell's probably more passionate about the game than the other 19 combined, so more power to him. |

He played the Idol. Like Yau-Man/Amanda/Randyhole. Evil Russell should not take the idol and get the boot.

If Russell is playing the hidden immunity idol every week... we'll get this expression from Dave every tribal council! |

Meh. Russell's Russel. I don't like him, but he's not worth the investment of hate for me.
What I hate most though (in the event he's on ASS2) is that ASS2 took place before the other ASSes got to see his shtick. I would have liked to see how he did with all his cards on the table. Then we'd really see if he was truly a player, or simply a one trick pony. |

co coach here sums up the hatred. It isn't Russell, he's an amusing player who is playing with some balls but unfortunately is too cheeky for the
cameras and has been shoved down our throats by CBS promos.
At this juncture, I suppose his greatest value is freaking everybody out when he finds an idol. The shock people displayed here and subsequent laffos cannot be underestimated! Is he playing a great game? Well shit, nobody playing a great game would be in so much danger at 12, 11 and 10 so he's playing a below average game but getting his hits when he needs them. He is the Scott Brosius of Survivor Samoa. -SJ™ |

It's frustrating to see so many people blaming Russell about is camera time. He had nothing to do with it. He sat down in front of a camera just like
everyone else on that island. Do you think Russell ran over to Jaison in the middle of a confessional and pushed him over and said "I got this, go cry in
the shelter or something..." ? He's being shoved down everyone's throats because he's interesting. I've also seen Shambo in
confessionals a couple of times every show. Nobody is whining because she's being shoved down their throats... If anyone else was playing the game, why
would the editors feel the need to hide it from everyone, especially if they go very far? Thirty nine days is a long time to make a story out of the footage
that is shot. Sadly, the only 'good guy' that has been established is Natalie, and maybe Mick to a MUCH lesser degree. Everyone knows the 'bad
guys'. The rest are cannon fodder. Jaison has been made out to be the smart lawyer, who gets easily offended, who gives up in challenges, who then just
believes his fate is sealed. Laura has been given lots of story to this point. Her background has been revealed, her challenge prowess, her secret leadership
of Galu (yeah, she's calling the shots in that tribe, not Shambo...) There are other things going on in this show besides Russell. Just ask yourself: how
interesting is Mick, really? How interesting is Brett? Would you, as an editor, take out 3 of the 6 Russell confessionals per show, to show something Monica
says? Kelly?
