The Oklahoma State broadcast of the Texas Tech game is on XM231. The Tech broadcast is supposed to be on XM241, but it isn't (at least for now). Tech's broadcast is on Sirius 91, though.

Trailing 7-3 at OkSt, Texas Tech pulls the ineffective Taylor Potts and puts in the semi-healed Steven Sheffield.

Jesus Christ! I may be the only person watching the Cal game, but it has had a truly bizarre ending. How can scoring a touchdown actually hurt your own team?
Well, I don't know if I can explain it here, but I think my heart just exploded. :)

End 3rd, score 10-10, Oklahoma State is driving toward another score (and has been driving the entire second half). Tech's Sheffield isn't anywhere
near 100%.

Crap! Tech apparently recovered a fumble at the Tech 1. But on replay, the fumble was overruled and Oklahoma State immediately reclaims the lead, 17-10.

Wow, the refs made a TERRIBLE fake-fumble call in this Pitt-ND game. They're giving the game to Pittsburgh.

With Oklahoma State leading 24-17, Texas Tech recovers a Zac Robinson fumble. The Raiders have to go 88 yards with about 1:36 to play.

Even if ND wasn't hosed on the fake fumble, they were still looking at 4th and what, 16?

This is the first time I'm near a non-work computer all day, so let me first say:
Pathetic. According to Ray Ratto of the SF Chronicle, at the post-game handshake between the coaches, Carroll asked Harbaugh, "What's your deal? What's your deal?" To which Harbaugh responded, "What's your deal?" SurvivorLDog93 wrote:To be honest, several things have/had to happen in order for Stanford to win the conference. 1. Stanford wins against USC and Cal. 2. Oregon loses one more conference game. 3. Oregon State loses one more game. 3b. At max, only one of the Oregon schools can go into the Civil War having won all their conference games between today and then. 4. Arizona loses at least twice. Of these only part of 1. ( That's not to say that I'm not putting faith in our team. Rather, I don't have faith in other teams in the Pac-10 right now. As it is, one of the goals for fans (not the team) was to just get to a bowl. Now that that's been achieved and seeing how much parity there is in the conference with the possibility of going to the Rose Bowl, I'd say anything less than the Sun would be a disappointment for fans, even the Emerald bowl in San Francisco (Cal or USC can take that). While the Sun isn't the most ideal of bowls for the third choice team in the Pac-10 (as to why the conference has such awful bowl obligations, that's another story), it is a bowl, and that's nothing to be upset about for a team that hasn't been to the postseason in eight years. Personally, I'd like to go to Pasadena or San Diego, but I wouldn't be upset if we ended up in El Paso. |

Congrats, Muggles.
Are y'all worried at all about bigger programs coming after Harbaugh? He has done a remarkable job at Stanford. |

Most definitely. There's the Raiders, first and foremost, and considering they're just 35 miles away, that's the most pressing concern at the
moment. At a level just below that is Michigan, which is Harbaugh's alma mater, and then far below that is Notre Dame.
Supposedly he's paid $800K per season right now (since Stanford is private, its notorious for keeping its salaries of all its employees sealed). Writers are saying that he was offered a contract extension at $1.25M last February, but then the economic crisis hit the athletic department hard, so the signing was extension was canceled and talks were postponed until later. Bob Bowlsby, our AD, said after the game today that the extension is all ready to be signed and that we should know "soon" when its signed, whatever that means. In any case, I think Stanford fans are extremely scared that the same thing that happened with Trent Johnson over in basketball is going to happen with Harbaugh (Johnson bolted for LSU while Bowlsby waited until he got back to campus from Tampa for the Women's Final Four two years ago). That's the worst case scenario, but after this season, barring some massive outlash by Palo Alto yuppies, Harbaugh will get whatever he wants within reason. He can only break the stigma of Stanford not paying its coaches much more than its professors so much before we reach the straw that will most definitely break the camel's back. That said, having spoken with Harbaugh personally (not about this stuff, obviously), he's one of the nicest guys off the field that I know in the department. Palo Alto, while not his birthplace, is technically his hometown since he grew up here and graduated from high school here. So I think he wants to stay around, but he also wants to be rewarded for his achievements. I think he'll get 'em, but like I said, he knows the limits. |
