Actually she did... but she started playing at F6 -Before that, she was a useless, spoilt brat, that was merely a pawn in the hands of the true Strategists of Gabon. (Ken, Crystal, Corinne/Marcus, Ace). Too Late, and ultimately, too little.

Finally someone recognise that Sugar was playing the game. However Lexann, Sugar started a lot earlier then Final 6 to play. Post interviews Sugar revealed that her gameplan was attached to Alpha male(Ace) because physically she is weak and when time is right ditch him. Sugar was also in semi alliance with Jacquie who was part of the onion alliance. So of the bat Sugar had 2 strong castaways protecting her. Don't forget she found the idol in less off a hour.(1) So Sugar was simply following her gameplan and guess what it was working like clock work. So Sugar was playing the game from day one for herself.. If anything Ace was a pawn for Sugar and not the other way around. (2).
But it seems many are forgetting without Sugar, Ken and Crystal the true strategies as you call them would have been long gone without Sugar involvement. Sugar saved Crystal twice from elimination in the game. (3)

(1) The reason why Sugar got as far as she did was because everyone else was so damned scared of her HII that they didn't want to voted her out. In addition, Fang (Ie: Kenny and Crystal) had bigger fish to fry (Quitter GC, Weak Kelly and Snace.). So she got to the merge, where she was an obvious non-threat. (She only did well in two out of -what was it- nine Challenges?), so why would anybody attempt to flush out the Idol? She wasn't at risk before the F6 anyway.


(2) It had never been certain whether Ace controlled Sugar or Sugar controlled Ace. In that aspect, and in that aspect only, Sugar equals Natalie White - Both the Man and the Woman play eachother to get further in the game. The man is the head making the decisions, and the woman is the neck turning the head in any direction she wants to. That I can grant her. However, apart from that - No, nothing remarkable untill F6-5, where she, and I'll give her that, dominated strategically.



(3) Strategically, Suger really didn't need to do anything to stay in the game before the F6. However, she turned on Ace because she Kenny manipulated her into thinking that Ace was trying to flush her Idol out. It was completely unnessecairy to do so, since both Ace and Matty, as well as Ken and Crystal would have carried her to the end, no matter what. (Why not?) The decision of Backstabbing Charlie wasn't really that strategic either. She totally dispised Corinne and Randy. It was purely emotional, and trust me, emotional games tend to be quite awfull compared to all Strategies. (remember Lillian?). In the end, she used her emotions rather than her brain, and ended up unnessecairly backstabbing a lot of people (Charlie, Ken, Crystal, Matty), as well as humiliating others with unneeded cruelty (Randy, Corinne). Her Post F6 gameplay was alright, but overall she's shaky, unstable, unreliable and physically weak. In other words a poor and undeserving player than got to the end on the backs of other, more deserving persons. (which are basically everyone except Matty and Bob)

Natalie is different. She may not be the brightest person around, but she's detemined, honest, insightfull, persuasive, humble, aware, subtle, likeable and quite down-to-earth. She's also a very skilled Manipulator, and does so without anyone realizing it. She is the true Puppet Master, as Episode 8 proved.(Maybe I give her too much credit on this, but I think I'm quite accurate on the matter) Either way, all these traits are qualities that Sugar indisputably lacks.
