What if Trinity really does have four kills instead of three? Perhaps the fourth kill is a male in his thirties and because the person is buried alive the police (and Lundy) have never known there was a fourth. I think Dexter thinks he has Trinity not really figured out but close enough to where Dexter feels comfortable in his knowledge and his guard is down.

Or - maybe Trinity has a ritual with a coffin where he sleeps in one to be reborn and forgiven for his actions. He spends the night and arises cleansed and ready to go again.
