Well, I can always fall back on the fact that they're the Bengals, meaning they will eventually collapse and fail. :) Not too many losses looking at that schedule of theirs though. Pats still got to go to the Super Dome to play the Saints, so there's certainly a likelihood they'll end the season 12-4. Wonder who controls the tiebreaker right now since they don't meet this year.

But seriously, it's 4th and 2, you are 30 yards from the colts endzone, and you are WINNING the game, why o whyTF would you 'go for it'? Just punt the ball way, way, way down the field and then try to stop the colts, way down the field, where they will need more than 2 first downs to get to the goal. That was just an idiotic call by the Patriots. They didn't need to get anymore field position or points they just needed to stop the colts, hahahahaha!!!! good day for my team the dolphins, all three of thier division rivals lost and we won, yay!!

Agreement on giving kudos to Belichick for having the courage to actually play for the win, though, regardless of the outcome... the constant 'playing to not lose' and 'prevent' defenses so often come back to bite teams in the ass. Still though, in this case, I agree with Collinsworth - you've got to trust your defense to hold them from going the length of the field. Ballsy call or not, they should have punted.

Was on the floor crying with that one. Pats have won many championships, so while I'm certainly upset at the loss and Belichick's horrific call to go for it, all will be okay in the end. Just a game. :) Indy's got a tendency to be one and done, and if they do meet, I still think the Pats can beat them in Indy. Don't expect Belichick to make a call like this again this season.

Yeah nothing can ever compare to the nightmare that was the Grady Little game, and I mean nothing. That was the worst The Giants Super Bowl was beautiful, though. I see a more healthy Colts team beating the Pats again when they meet in the Playoffs. They were sloppy tonight, and I don't see them being that sloppy again, particularly in the playoffs.
