did the other Stargate shows use the Plastic plants section of Wal-Mart to be a planet ever? The production value of this show is horrible. When Senator's
daughter was picking that purple fruit, you could actually see where they bent the clothes hanger into a giant hook to hang it on the tree. This show is really
starting to make some of the BBC sci-fi shows look like original Jurassic Park on opening day.

The background being cheesy and cheap is part of its charm.

I love this show.
I dislike Chloe, the attention whore who has no use aboard the ship, but absolutely must be in every major scene discussing future plans/what-to-dos with the other characters... |

Isn't it just a tad disturbing how all these body switching people are making trips home to have sex with their wives/girlfriends ect.? Are the soldiers assigned to sit and wait by the stupid body swapping stones made aware of the stuff that their body got up too in the last 24 hours? I love Robert Carlyle and the Stargate franchise and will continue to watch Universe but I really hope they jettison the stones and cut out all this Young vs. Talfort nonsense. And Yes, Chloe is useless and it makes zero sense that she's constantly in on the action. |

I've finally caught up on the latest episodes. This show is going nowhere fast. I would think at some point it would turn around and pick up, but I've
thought that since the beginning. Last week wasn't bad, but most ofl the other ones have been meh.
What bugs me is what in the hell is the point of stranding them on a spaceship on the other side of the universe when half of every episode takes place on Earth????? As a show in it's own right maybe it's ok, but unfortunately SGU has more in common with Melrose Place than SG-1 or Atlantis. The complete lack of any wit or humor further weighs this show down. I just hope that this far off galaxy they are in has inhabitants more interesting than alien fireflies. |

I agree the whole sex with another person's body is disturbing. What about diseases, unplanned pregnancies, etc??? Top it off, these people are supposed to
be part of the air force - ummm... is that in their job description?
I was a bit disappointed in the plot device of having Matt have a Telford flashback. Just too convienient a way to move the Telford/Young storyline forward. Figure out another way to tell that story. I do like that we have a unstable(ish) leader with perhaps more issues than most of his command. Another convienient plot point - why does everyone seem to have loved ones in the DC area? Still - I like the show. It's a change up for the SG franchise - I'm willing to go with it. |

The mystery episode Friday wasn't all that deep I admit. It was clear that it was a frame up from the moment the gun was found and the only two people who
would want Young out of the way were Rush and the IOA chick and I figured it would be Rush since it's always Rush. But the episode was gripping just the
same and one of the better ones they've aired so far, best of all they stayed on the ship (with a short furlough to an alien world) with ZERO crappy
'stone' tripping back to Earth. More episode like this one please!
Rush may be the asshole of the Universe (according to the writers anyway) but he is definitely the only character on the ship I really care about. I like Eli but he's being way to much of a patsy on the show, mooning over the slutty chick who doesn't view him as remotely sexual and being Young's bitch of late isn't endearing him to me any. Looking forward to next season when Rush comes back in that patched-up alien spaceship to throw some wrenches in Young's plan. If Young even has a plan. The character doesn't seem to have much of a plan considering his big thing is getting everyone home and he just ditched the one guy who might have been able to make it happen. Granted he didn't want to make it happen but still Rush is the man Young needs if he wants to get that Stargate up and running for Universe to Earth gate travel. |

I kinda like that the 'leader' is totally fucked up. From him begging to get inside his wife's house to him being such a complete emotionally idiot
that he abandons Rush to die because he is pissed at him. It's a nice change of pace and I do wonder how the hell the writers plan to get thru this. It
isn't like he can be replaced.
I didn't like last episode at all and totally fast forwarded thru about 50% of it. I HATE when non-lawyer shows fall into court room scenes. ick, Ick, ICK!!! It is interesting tho, that others like it. So, I guess it's a matter of opinion. It perked up at the end with the discovery of the planet and then leaving Rush there - I didn't see that coming. With the series it's like the writers decided to really trap themselves and still try to bring it together. Their cast is limited - their ability to meet others is limited - etc. Now what? Sorta fun to see. Hopefully they won't fill it with more court room stuff. BTW - I would have rather seen Ming Na killed off than the crazy dude - she's just too whiney for me. Oh well. |

the courtroom stuff was too BSG for me and they didn't manage to pull it off with any sort of panache.
But the episode was way better than some of the tripe we have had to suffer through. As for Rush being abandoned...now that was awesome. He totally had it coming, but whoah. |

HighlanderGeek wrote:Seeing as they have 4 stones I can forsee a visit from SG-1 at some point. My feeling is that Daniel Jackson is the go to guy for info on all this retro ancient technology. He is listed as staring in at least two more episodes that have not yet aired. There will be a season or two where they are isolated a billion light years from home with no ability to dial Earth. But Earth at some point will find a power source large enough to dial Destiny. Then we will have relief crews (new characters) and fresh supplies. Plus that dude who had his temples nearly drilled out by the ancient chair may now have some insight into how to get control of the ship. |

I suddenly had a yen for some SGU episodes, so I checked and it's coming back Friday.

Ah... that sated my yen. Nice way to get Rush back without him flying the alien ship, being brainwashed, hybrid'ed, whatever. Just him as he was, back on the ship... with revealed agenda.
Cool aliens... kinda wished they'd become this series' big bads. It's weird this show doesn't have one yet. Of course, they grab the sexiest female. Poor Lt. James' tits. So alone. Sad. Looks like Ming Na's boobs takeover next week. I surrender. |

The show isn't very realistic, the biggest rack on the ship is lonely????

This is a real disaster for Stargate fans. It should have never have been associated with Stargate. Battlegate Universe is more like it. The rating keep falling on their new soap approach now. Just the shakey-cam alone is enough to run like H from it. How many shows rate a site like http://www,sgusucks.com to be set up in response? The show is all hype and trailers. They were even giving it away on iTunes.
