I used to HATE Jerri with a burning passion, but then I grew up and watched her on All-Stars and fell in love <3 Can't wait to see her back! Go Jerri!

To me, it would be very logical to have it be the show that takes the timeslot. They could advertise it all night about how it is the 10th anniversary and with
it being Heroes vs Villains, I think they could attract a lot of viewers!

Note to self: Never read any thread again involving Survivor 20. There's bound to be cast spoilers.

It's not the potential cast spoilers that upset me, it's that people started posted supposed boot spoilers that pissed me off. So I've stayed away
from that whole S20+ forum (and the spoiler forum obviously, since only go there in the post-winter season downtime before filming of the fall season starts)
all together. And I had to block someone on AIM who was a douche and tried throwing little S19 spoilers and said they'd spoil much more with S20 soon, lol.
Luckily only potential boot spoiler was the first boot and well, it made me happy to where it gives me more incentive to watch the premiere.

Mega64 wrote: It is a misconception that having the first All Stars air after the Super Bowl recaptured old fans. This did cause a large initial increase for the first episode because of viewer carryover much in the same way that Amazing Race has increased viewership on Sundays where there are football overruns. The large increase was extremely short lived and did not carry over to the regular Thursday airings. In fact more people watched the Pearl Islands finale than the All Stars finale. All Stars ended up being the season with the third highest number of viewers principally because of the large increase for the first episode airing after the Super Bowl. However, airing the first episode of the Super Bowl did not accomplish the network's objective of recovering the large number of viewers that stopped watching after the first 2 seasons. So, I don't see how airing the S20 premiere after the Super Bowl will accomplish the goal of bringing back former fans that stopped watching when it didn't work the first time that they tried it. It will be 6 years since people last saw Rupert, Jerri and Colby and most people have gotten over them. With two appearances of Boston Rob on both Survivor and Amazing Race as well as his televised wedding, I'm sure that many CBS viewers have had more than their fill of him. |

Even ignoring this, the word of mouth on the street that old favorites are back again would be enough to inspire at least a tiny boost in the average post premire ratings. |

Yeah, while the increase in ratings might not be huge and it might not like double or triple the overall ratings or whatever...I highly doubt it would HURT the
ratings.

Even if it wouldn't be a large increase, Survivor would still be the show that would most benefit from an increase unless they decide to move The Mentalist
to 9pm in the winter or want to see if they can raise more awareness for HIMYM. Definitely would be useful if ABC decides to air Lost on Thursdays at 8pm and
give the show some actual competition for once.

I hope we get a TBBT/HIMYM combo, or just one hour of TBBT. Survivor frankly doesn't deserve the post Super Bowl spot.

Dr Will Hatch two point oh wrote: Well, you could still get that tiny boost without having to schedule the premiere episode right after the Super Bowl. I know that I'm biased because I live on the East Coast but the last time that Survivor followed the Super Bowl, the episode did not start until nearly 11 PM. If Tom Brady had not successfully completed a touchdown in the final minute of play, the game would have gone into overtime and the episode may well not have ended until after 1 AM. I'm sorry, but I enjoy watching the show live and the prospect of possibly having to stay up and watch at some odd hour of the morning when I have to go to work the next day sucks. Survivor is handily winning its time period. In 2003-2004, Survivor was getting beat by the last season of Friends. Like I said, if Survivor was not winning its time period I'd be more willing to put up with the post Super Bowl debut. |

I'm pretty sure Survivor was beat for the first time since the Friends finale sometime this season.

I think we need a big ratings boost to ensure the continuation of the show through season 30 ^_^
Everyone vote for Survivor in that poll, maybe CBS will see it or something. Which Survivor should we vote for... kind of fucked that they split up the survivor votes so it looks lower. |

No shit about splitting the votes. We already know S20 is an all stars season, so combined the votes would bring Survivor to 2nd place. There is no need for a
'only if'.
