Last year they had to choose one person from their tribe to meet a person from the opposing tribe in a duel. The person that stood the longest on one leg on a log won and the other person had to go home. This year we had team X where 5 people ended up after they were chosen out of their tribes or quit the first challenge. Then team x, team south and team north met eachother in a challenge. The team that lost had to gome home. So 5 people went home in one episode. That sucked big time. We have weird twists in tribal council as well and several of the castaways that went home because of twists like these were pissed at the production company and are considering suing TV3. Some of the castaways felt like they were treated like actors, not contestants in a "fair" realityshow.

Not that I wouldn't laugh if all of a sudden Probst said "Jaison, Mick, Laura, Shamu, Brett, the tribe has spoken..." I'd laugh my ass off before going ballistic here at Sucks and refusing to watch the rest of the season. I couldn't imagine giving the public the right to vote on these things. That concept ruined the first season of Big Brother here in the US. Leave it to the people playing the game! If you want to vote, go watch Idol, IMO. -SJ™

I mean, yes, they should be able to survive 39 days without knowing shit from home or the loved ones, but then don't bring the letters, don't even ask the families to write them. Once you show them the letters, burning them in their faces is just unnecesary and demoralizing. I would probably laugh cause i hate any episodes involving the families, but doing it just to make them "suffer" sounds stupid, you can do that in many other ways.

I don't think I can name all the twists that happen there. First, there was a challenge where all the candidates had to run around naked. One girl refused to do this and was disqualified. Her brother (who for some reason was also part of the game) quit to support her. The candidates were divided in a smart and a dumb team. One of the candidates on the smart team was an actor who had to stir things up and was "arrested" for killing his girlfriend after a few episodes (police arrived on the island and took him away). One of the candidates was offered money to become a mole, which ment she was the one eliminating people rather than the others voting someone out (also on the other tribe). Other candidates could take a guess to who the mole was by ringing a bell but if they were wrong, they would be eliminated themself. Candidates voted out go to a secret island and have the chance to return to the game, eg. when someone quits. There are challenges where the loser is eliminated. There is a HII and someone found/won(?) a talisman that guaranteed him a place in the final, but he would have to eliminate one of the other candidates and refused to do so, so he lost his place in the finals. And I'm probably forgetting a few more twists. :P

This edition of the show is more a "physological"(?) kind of Survivor than a physical one, so it fit with the theme. There was a challenge where the winner would meet a loved one. The problem was that there was one loved one the winner would meet (a draw decided whose loved one it was), so the winner did not meet their own loved one but someone elses, to f*ck with their minds.

Expeditie Robinson is a Physical game first, and a Mental Game second. This is obvious as they always vote out the weakest person. (even in the Individual stage). 7 out of 10 winners won due to a Physical or a Survival game, which didn't have much to do with mental toughness, and even less with Strategy, unless you call Pagoning the other tribe "strategy" (these winners are: Richard, Frank, Yin, Vinni, Olga, Marnix and Ryan). Only two won because of Mental Toughness. (Karin and Jutta), and only one won because of his Strategic prowess. (Derek). Psychological Game my ass. It's lame, annoying and just plain unacceptable. Letter and drawing, written and drawn with love, just burned and thrown away as if they were rags? They could as well have punched the loved ones in the face.

The only exception was when Cock Islands was not aired cuz the Great Leaders thought it might upset the delicate sensibilities of our multiracial society. This also indirectly led to TAR10 not airing on free-to-air TV here. I'd say there's an even mix of casual and dedicated fans.

At least the Survivor franchise doesn't completely fuck it up, though Celeb AU was retarded but it was a Celeb version so I didn't actually care. Remove this ad Talking about Expedition Robinson's twists, the Finnish Robinson had some cool twists in the beginning. The whole thing started with an opening get-to-know-each-other party on a boat, and then in the middle of everything the host comes and says the game has began and the last person to get to the nearest beach is eliminated. Then once the rest got to the beach, they were locked in a cage and it was told that the first person to leave the cage would also be eliminated, and the game would begin only then. As stupid as these twists sound, they provided great entertainment, especially the cage thing. Later on that season we also had a twist where a winner of a challenge got the right to send two people in an additional challenge, where the loser would be eliminated.
