I always wondered if Lance and Lacey went that direction because, along with the fact that they both have hip-hop training, Lacey was one of the larger pros on
the show. The first thing they said about it was there would be no lifts.

I am not a fan of the hip hop freestyles. I wish they could combine ballroom, latin, and whatever else they want to in the freestyles, but apparently they are
discouraged from using ballroom/latin stuff in freestyle.
Anyway, that is the impression I got from somewhere, anyone know? I'd love to see them use the skills they have learned but without the rigid ballroom "rules" and just do an amazing dance throwing in a bit of that or a twist of this, lifts, whatever. Instead, too often, we get hip hop or disco moves. |

Could you imagine Len if they were to mix styles up? He might have a stroke right there.

Drew and Cheryl's freestyle was the one truly great and unexpected freestyle we've seen on that show. Just great, and still makes me smile.

Apolo!!! I miss him, he was amazing and with such an infectious smile and overall great spirit. The last time I bothered voting was for him. Maybe they will do
a champions edition of the show and we can see him again. Him and Drew on the same show, now that would be an entertaining showdown.
On another note, I read an interview with Engelbert Humperdinck that said he would love to be on the show... here's hoping he gets in next season, I think he'd be fun. |

Carboys Desire wrote: Ok... I take back what I said about the 60's Kelly dance. THIS was the worst dance I've ever seen. How did it do with the judges? Thanks for the videos! I like the idea that they can really incorporate any types of dance.. it gives them the chance to show off their the strengths. I can't wait until next week! |

That is the US... The UK version is Strictly Come Ballroom I think.

I don't think there are any rules with the freestyles. It's just that most of the couples are younger & want to do hip-hop moves. They can throw in
ballroom moves if they want. The fun thing about freestyle is they can do all the lifts they want.

Of course, it can go just as wrong on Strictly, as this Brendan Cole and Lisa Snowden show dance demonstrates. For some reason, I can only find the one with
comments from the Digital Spy forum, but you'll still get the jist of it.
