I'm not really sure what the hell Planet Fierce is, but it sounds stupid. Anyway, this was their response to the OUT Magazine thing:
Well, I have yet to see the gay community stand up to unequivocally support Adam Lambert. Time after time I read assertions that they "voted for the other guy," Michael Musto of the Village Voice being just one of the more vocal homosexuals in the entertainment industry to trumpet that - even tossing the remark into his lead-in to Hicklin's letter. Blog after blog, comment after comment, I read gay men tear Adam down for his looks, his body type, his choice of clothing and makeup. Not much about the music, I'm afraid. That the most important thing Adam Lambert brings to the table gets swept aside in a debacle to see who can hurl the wittiest and cattiest insults is an egregious and, yes, bigoted, injustice. I guess I have seen the error of my ways. I'm sorry Adam. I didn't realize as a gay man I had to support you because you are gay also. It's ok
for me to tear down straight people, but not gay ones. Even if I find Adam to be nothing but smoke and mirrors and full of shit, rude to fans, rude to
interviewers, rude to magazine editors...I must like him. What a bunch of horseshit.

Because I have lived 22 years of my life as an out gay man, I'm totally jealous of Adam Lambert. I was dealing with gay issues long before this obnoxious, arrogant douchebag ever was. I have nothing to be jealous of. Act like a douchebag and treat people like assholes, I won't like you. This notion that somehow gay people would love that just because it's another gay person doing it...that is pretty insulting. And really stupid. |
