Geez Blueberry...when you praise everyone under the sun and and want awards for all of them it kinda takes away from the merit of the awards and it's
certainly hard to take you seriously. They are not KUDOS for Chrissakes, they're supposed to be special.

My bf got advanced tickets to see The Blindside tomorrow night. He's a huge Sandra Bullock fan.
I'll report back whether it's good or not. |

I'm not a huge SB fan, but I'm a sucker for "uplifting" sports movies. You better not forget to report back!

I'm really looking forward to Colin Firth in 'A Single Man' (I believe that's the title) with Julianne Moore. Love both of them..hope it's
a keeper.
Also, 'The Lovely Bones' but, as someone said, this could be a great film or a bust. The book was wonderful... and THE ROAD..I want this to be good too (loved the book)

It only shocks me when male posters come out as straight.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but I can imagine that the response to "The Lovely Bones" won't be as good as we're expecting. The book has
a very feminine quality about it and I wonder if a movie based off of it will sit well with the male-dominated world of movie critics. I also found some of
the dialogue in the book a bit wimpy, but I'm hoping with the actors and director that it has, it can overcome that fault.
As for Crash, if I had my way, its name would be stricken from the annals of Oscar-dom. It's a terribly melodramatic movie with an amateurish plot (at best) hiding behind an important message which it pretends to convey but, in reality, doesn't even describe that well. Blech. The only performances from the film that I liked were those of Michael Pena and Loretta Devine. |

/the talk is very strong for two of the actresses in Lovely Bones, though few have seen it as yet.
As for Crash... let's just say that's the mentality of the message: Have it crash, head-on, with the viewer. HORRIBLY obvious movie, and way OTT with its message. Give the audience some credit, fer fuck's sake. |

Word. I loathed Crash so much. Couldn't stand it. I almost walked out.

Friends say I am just bitter about Brokeback; but while I do think Brokeback was far better, I hated Crash from the second I saw it, long before the other film
was even released.

I hated Crash before I ever even heard of Brokeback.

Meryl Streep better win the motherfucking statue next year. She has lost more than anybody in the history of the awards and is waaaaaaayyy due for a 2nd Leading Oscar! Gah! If that Fetus from An Education or whatever wins after only starring in 1 movie, I'm going to throw a hissyfit. The way I see it, you gotta pay your dues, have a great body of work, be truly respected in the industry and prove over and over again that you're more than a one trick pony before you win a statue. Which is almost always true in the male category but somehow irrelevant in the female one. They just give it to whoever has nice tits. That's why the list of past winners is littered by the likes of Halle Berry and Reese Witterspoon. |

Two words are probably going to keep me from ever seeing Precious, and they rhyme with Shmyler Shmerry.
