You know what my beef with Liz today is! And this is obvious because my brother is special needs: when Joy was talking about government programs and Liz was like go on, Joy said in response that it was socialism, and Lisbitch clapped her hands and said with a big huge smile thank you for admitting that it's socialism! What also bothers me is that people label this and that "socialism" like it's a bad thing. Frankly when you get a country as huge and diverse as the USA, you need a soupcon of socialism to keep it running smoothly. You need a fairly strong government to help contain it a bit. You need boundaries (read: regulations) to keep it from running in a billion different directions. Having no regulations and bowing down before the capitalism god got us into the mess we're in because it can breed selfishness to the point of destruction of institutions. (And I'm prolly mixing up all my political definitions anyway.)
Just my humble opinion, of course.
