Kevin broke a record tonight for most elim challenge wins at 5, I think? I think Stefanie had the most elim wins of any winner (4, six overall which is the most of anyone who has won) and Hosea, Hung, and Harold all had the least (1).

Ya I feel they are editing it as evil bro goes next. Jen makes the finale but is a diaster alas Carla/Casey. Kevin get's Stefan'd (dominating the whole
season, then losing). Bryan wins even though he's been rather meh all season (Although he has won 3 elim challenges, but other than that he hasn't won
any quickfires or wasn't top 3 much anytime he didn't win).

I actually think Kevin is getting he Casey edit. I think he muffs it in the end, with Bryan first and Jen close behind.

Ya that could be right. I think Jen is gonna come back into the finale how she started the show. She'll have time between the F5 episode and F4 (part 1 of
the finale) to collect herself and rest up. Thank God they don't film the entire season straight through because I think the chefs are worn out by then.
I just looked at the wiki entries and no winner won the most challenges their season: LeAnne (4), Sam (6), Casey (5), Richard (7), Stefan (8), and Kevin has won 9, and there is still 2 more challenges to go. It'd make sense if he lost because this show sure doesn't reward the most consistent. |

it was nice to see a more "human" Bryan tonight. he could have totally fucked Kevin over, but he didn't. and Bryan's dishes looked the most
appetizing to me.
so so so so happy to see Eli gone. his arrogance has bugged me from the beginning. |

Kevin is going to be in the final 3, Michael is going, if there is any justice.
It was a sucky idea to have two bros in the comp in the first place, IMO. |

End of the season and I finally like Bryan! I hate Michael more than ever though. He's such a fuckin' douche.

lizzo1 wrote: I agree. I was totally confused by the outcome. I really thought Brian was going to win, by the comments of the chefs (other than the judges) that they thought his dish would have been really successful with a little more time and it sounded like it was only an issue with the lamb being a little too rare. They gave him great comments about his skills and the way he spoke about his food. How did he not win? And I thought Michael received the worst critiques and thought he was gone for sure. And I was really happy about it because of his cockiness. Going to bed rather than reviewing the DVDs, his rude comments. He was so cocky and his dish was a complete failure. They only kept him, because they want the two brothers in the final challenge. So glad that Jen is getting it together again. I loved that she won the quickfire, especially after Michael V's asshole comment that she has nothing to offer anymore (or something to that effect). If Jen doesn't somehow pull out the win that Carla should have last season (if not for doubting herself and listening to that twunt Casey), then Jen at least has to place higher than Michael V. I love how they showed Jen helping everyone else out. She has a very dry and serious personality when competing, but you can see that she is a warm friendly person in the other clips they show after each elimination when she consoles the loser and when she congratulates the winners. She is a hugs & kisses kind of gal, obviously. Also, while watching last night all I could think of was how they obviously booted Robin before this challenge so she wouldn't embarass herself and the Top Chef judges/name. Could you imagine the train wreck she would have been attempting that? Lastly, WTF? I thought there was supposed to be a "shocking" elimination where one of the four was going to be eliminated prior to the finale? I was really disappointed. |

You guys are delusional.
Jen is toast- she's been carried along for too long. Kevin will win, despite his "simple" style (WTF does THAT mean, anyway?) Kevin was ACCEPTED at MIT fer chrissakes, before deciding to become a Chef. 'Nuff said. ps in the finale, the two brothers will work together and find a new level of understanding. Look for the whole stupid family to show up and tears all around. |

I thought it was really obvious Kevin was going to win. I think that's what all the critiques were for, basically. Four of the five chefs all had
noticeable issues. It made the winner super obvious if you were just watching the actual meal. So to give it any suspense, at Judges Table they had to find
SOMETHING to criticize about Kevin's dish.
I also thought, based on the reactions during tasting, that Eli was the obvious loser. They seemed a bit repulsed by his dish actually. Everyone else had execution issues, but the reactions to his made it seem like he was on a totally different level of badness. |

Does Michael actually have any idea what a total prick he is?

I don't think they had to find anything to criticize about Kevin; it's already there to see. Kevin's an awesome chef but it seems obvious even to
me that his main theme this season is his food isn't as technical or as attractive looking as some of the others. Which is fine because taste is what
matters for the most part. The chefs and judges did seem to have a problem with that but again taste won out and Kevin shows promise to learn, being only 26.
I'm with those that think Bryan has a chance of winning overall though. He never hit the bottom 3, he's won three times, and contrary to what is stated above, he actually has been in the top 3 a couple of times without winning. Also, his edit in the past two weeks has improved between his child endearingly calling him Bryan, his willingness to help others/respect that simple food is fine when executed well, and his increased likelihood of smiling. But Kevin's still the frontrunner. |

Kevin might be making simple food but, a) it obviously tastes great or he wouldn't still be there and b) it may be simple, but it's not like he's
making grilled cheese & crackers.

Kevin will do fine in that world championship thing because he is really, really intelligent. He was supposed to be a rocket scientist or something and became
a chef instead. The guy is smart and doesn't make mistakes because he didn't think something through. Before he goes to the competition he is going to
have done his homework and research, you can be sure of that.

I wish we could have seen Michael's reaction to Kevin winning that challenge, and the amazing prize attached to it.. I bet it was priceless and prickish. I
loved him saying, after he clearly misunderstood the purpose of the Quickfire, that he could have made a ballotine as good as Kaysen's. I looked for a
smirk to indicate he was kidding, but didn't really see one.
I wasn't familiar with the Bocuse d'Or, and Tom has a good explanation of it in his blog. I do hope Kevin shaves before trying out to be our representative on a world stage... |
