Wade just showed you how it's done. That was the kind of exciting dance I LOVE to see. ETA: Mollee's ~~gymanstics~~ solo moves were impressive. It wasn't as great as the judges thought, but was better than I had expected. And Nathan was best of the guys, too. Damn. Victor really did overdo the pirouettes. And NOW do you all see what I was saying last night? Victor goes to safe, and to what he knows he does well... good start, but he doesn't usually push beyond it. Jakob is the same way. Posts: 23406 (11/19/09 1:24 AM) Not a team player Reply Quote More Recent Posts	FYI to anyone that watched The Fringe on Fox - right before the commercial break after Karen and Kevin were announced as the first bottom 3 couple, the camera pans to the audience and low and behold! there was an Observer in the audience. ox is doing a really cool campaign where Observers are popping up in public, the past and the present and on tv shows!

Agreed about the Wade group number. So glad to have Wade & his wife back. And about Mollee's "solo." I'm sorry, but if ANYONE other than Mollee did that routine, Nigel would have been bitching about it being a "competition dance" piece. If anything fits that category that Nigel usually HATES and bitches about, it was Mollee's routine. So glad they sent home Channing over Karen. I really thought Karen was a goner. I guess this was Nigel's way to prove they aren't being racist in their eliminations. Channing deserved to go home weeks earlier, but based on the solos last night I really thought Karen was toast and I wondered if Karen had given up and figured she and Kevin were getting booted so she didn't even attempt a decent solo. I love Karen, but her solo was a mess.

Some forms of Ballroom and Latin have now incorporated non-traditional moves, so continually saying that she is disadvantaged when dancing solo doesn't carry as much weight. And when compared to other Latin dancers -- even at a local level in a ballroom/latin wasteland -- she doesn't stand out when dancing in her own style, neither in technique or appeal (yes, the last is purely subjective). That said, I wish she'd stay simply because she's a competent latin dancer among a sea of contempo girls, and I like her more than I like Chelsie of Season 4.

Nigel, you had the freaking nerve to call slam Pauline's dancing calling it competition....while freaking Mollee is still in the competition. As for Karen's bad solo...I'm disappointed, but I'm not surprised. I think ballroom dances are going to suck in the future, because of that new stage. The new stage doesn't have stairs or the railing, which so many ballroom dancers use their solos on (Benji, Chelsie, Anya, Faina etc.). So now the ballroom dancers are going to have to think of something new.

I thought Victor's solo was the best of the night, male or female. But as far as criticizing the pirouettes, once again, it's a matter of consistency. Nigel spooged all over Danny and even Brandon for their endless pirouettes. I wouldn't mind a judge challenging the dancers to diversify their routines if they did it across the board, but to praise one dancer and criticize another for the same thing is just bullshit. Why is it okay for them, but for Victor, it is "safe" and boring? Because they were TCO's and Victor is fodder. That's what I can't stand about this show...
