Regarding Crash, I too saw it before it was nominated. It was new as far as I can remember. I hated it. I almost walked out which I do not ever do. It was so
far-fetched that I found it sappy and preachy. When it was nominated I couldn't believe it and when it won I was angry. It's as if they opened the
voting to the general public--the Jennifer-Aniston-loving general public. Blech!

I saw The Blindside last night. I like it, thought it was pretty good, and Sandra Bullock was excellent. I still couldn't belive the father in the movie
was Tim McGraw, he looks totally different without his trademark cowboy hat. He was really good too.

Friends always say it is sour grapes... but I hated it before I knew it had even a chance of Oscar success). I found it pretty insulting to the intelligence of the viewer. REALLY heavy-handed. What Carboys, said, basically. End rant. And I HEART C.R.A.Z.Y. |

You guys know "Crash" only won because it took place in Los Angeles, and that's why the academy voters voted for it, right?

Looking forward to "Nine" - Daniel Day Lewis can do no wrong and Marion Cotillard is only surpassed by Dame Judi Dench in that lineup. It'll be
interesting to see who gets nominated.

I'm calling it right here and now:
I guarantee Precious will not win Best Picture. Monique will likely win, though. |

Wow, you really went out on a limb there.

SAG had a screening of Nine which was apparently very well received. Loren, Dench, and Cotillard got the biggest applause in the ending credits so that totally means Cotillard = best in show, since of course the two oldies will get applauded. Gj MarionGoddess ^_^ |

^Good to hear. Hopefully not all the attention was spent on the women. How was Daniel received?

2005 had Good Night & Good Luck, The Constant Gardner, A History Of Violence, Pride & Prejudice, Howl's Moving Castle, Wallace and Gromit, so it
wasn't a total lost.

Match Point was all kinds of awesome.
Meryl Streep is the most over-rated bitch in history. |

I still liked crash. Im not going to say it deserved the oscar but Brokeback mountain was as much oscar bait as was crash.

And Crash made Hollywood feel like they were saying something important. I love Brokeback, though. Have older friends who burst out crying because it was very
real for them, reminded them of the way it used to be.

I loved Brokeback..regardless of the nay-sayers. Now, what should I go see this Winter Season?? I know... Precious'... but, what else? Will '9' be
great? Any other big contenders 'or' movies with big performances? TELL..I need to fill my days off! TIA ;)

I'm a little worried about 'Nine'. They pushed it back a month and instead of a traditional expanding rollout, they're just opening wide on
December 25. Maybe that's a sign of confidence, or maybe it's a dump. I have no idea.
