Ya, she was SOOO brilliant that she had the same clues as Russell, and she couldn't find the HII to keep it from Russell. Ya, you want to believe it was rigged, she had the same advantages and disadvantages, and she was on a winning tribe up to the merge!
And she was so smart that she alienated Shambo nearly from day 1, everyone is a potential vote. And she is so brilliant that she threatened Russell when he offered her a deal at the merge.
Oh ya, one of the best strategists. You are so far off base you aren't even in the ball park with that logic.

First of all, finding an idol has nothing do with being a good strategical player. And just because she didn't find it BEFORE him doesn't mean she "couldn't find the HII".

She wasn't the only one who alienated Shambo, I'm sure a lot of it was Shambo alienating herself but regardless... that's one person. Russell alienated Betsy (and pretty much Liz when he screamed at her that one time). It just so happened Galu only went to TC once premerge and things didn't have a chance to sort themselves out. Not losing enough can be just as much of a curse as losing too much because you don't have that same sort of trust with your tribe...

ALSO... are you serious? Russell pretty much threatened her first telling her that a Galu guy had to leave first before any Foa Foas...

Rehiding these damn idols every few days is ruining Survivor... a few seasons of it was enough but geeeez

I personally don't think the idols are ruining Survivor at all.

They add an entirely new dimension to the game, and require players to think of complicated boot strategies and counter strategies.

It makes it much more interesting to watch. It's a game of chess, and it's a leveling tool for mismatched merges, assuring a truly strategic player can still win if he or she was given a bum tribe.

And while last night's episode didn't necessarily revolve around the idol, I love that Galu even thought of telling Foa Foa that Monica would vote with Foa Foa if Foa Foa voted for John (so as to make Shambo's vote negligible). I love that kind of thinking -- even if it doesn't work.

I feel that that kind of complicated play happens much more often with idols floating around that it ever did otherwise. Last week Galu could have easily kept control of the game if they outwitted Foa Foa by voting for anyone but Russell, but Foa Foa correctly guessed Galu wouldn't make that move; Russell played the idol; and we all know the story. All of which wouldn't have happened if idols weren't floating around.
