Russell deserves all the credit in the world for finding THREE HIIs. Dave couldn't even see it when it was right in front of him.
And exactly how did the HII ruin tonight's episode? It was strictly about alliance-building. |

People should be allowed to steal it.

So was Colby lucky to win so many immunity challenges? The show stopped being about Survival in about episode 5 of season 1.
You can't tell me that you thought the show was fine when Chris Daugherty won, and this is the nail in the coffin. If the hidden immunity idol ruined the game, it did so in S13, because Yul pretty much used it to win the whole goddam game. If you want to tell me any season is rigged, it's S13. |

It's only rigged when people don't get the outcome they want.

In a completely unrelated story, 52 percent of national Republicans said ACORN stole Obama the presidency; only 27% think he won it legitimately.

Shows evolve or become stale.
I like this season, it's not as predictable, people are playing the game, or at least one is. Maybe die-hard Survivor addicts are bummed, but I think there may be just as many people out there enjoying this Survivor more than usual. The smug Yoga tribe gets smacked down by the plucky losers, and the worst tribe ever title switches hands. Frankly, the last few weeks have been fun as hell to watch. |

The last few weeks of the Sugar show was wretched. Between Ben and Yas, Shambo's mercurial emotions, Russell being hardcore, and Laura's badassness,
this is light years ahead of the past few seasons.

I'm not even sure there ever was an original point of this show.

Survivor's the same game it was before, it's melodramatic to state any differently. There's just some added elements of strategy that complicate
matters. Doesn't change the fact that the socially inept, the physically incompetent, and the logically unstable will still be targets and still are likely
to be targeted and booted. That basic concept of the show remains the same. There's just also an idol (or two, or three, or four) floating around that can
give certain players an extra layer of protection. It's the same purpose the original inclusions of Immunity Challenges served. Those with targets on their
backs have a way to escape elimination without convincing anyone of anything, and the specific format of these challenges, like the format of the HIIs, drives
the plot in what's supposed to be a compelling way. At the end of the day, neither saves you from a vengeful jury, but they can certainly help you out.
Now, with that being said, would I like the more strategically oriented players to survive, and couldn't care less about swimming, puzzle-solving, or clue-following abilities? Absolutely. But I accept it's part of the show, part of what makes it unpredictable. The best players have either adapted to this and worked on those specific skill sets, or they've learned how to successfully manage them (and the players that possess them). That's how someone like Tom can be such a great player (by being great at every aspect of the game) who I respect, while someone like Cirie can as well (by knowing how to get around the aspects of the game she isn't physically or mentally able to excel at). Are the idols getting a bit out of hand? Sure, they're more powerful than the standard Immunity necklace and it's really too wonky to have them pop up more than once or twice a season. That makes the game really hard to play, increases the chances of good players failing, and adds too much randomness to the mix for my tastes. Fortunately, I don't think we'll see the HII returning to the game the way it's been seen the last few seasons, not after Samoa. The producers don't want their show turning into any more of a joke than it already is. They'll try to make the idol a little more monumental and a little tougher to wield. Dunno what they might do, but they don't like this idol recovery happening every episode, it makes the thing as mundane as challenges and complicates strategy for the simple-minded viewers. That's why I'm not worried about it, I very much see this being a one-season thing. Russell's abusing the shit out of this aspect of the game, they won't let that happen again (well, until the next player comes along and figures out the correct method to take control). |

They made the idols too easy to find this season.

No one has been as proactive as Russell in trying to maximize the potential of the HII so how can anyone say they are too easy to find? Unless of course you
support the rig theory.

I really doubt that the producers would go through all this trouble to hype the shit out of Russell just to change the rules. The objective for each new season
seems to be to make the inevitable winner as either inoffensive or as undubious as possible. People will respect Russell for what he is doing to win, and
people will like it even if they have some reservations about the HII itself. I know I respect players who use and abuse the HII even though I loathe the
concept. If anything, I see this problem getting worse. Greet the Brave New World of Survivor.

Let's use Big Brother to study production manipulation and it's effects on Sucksters:
Big Brother 8: FUCK YOU DICK DONATO!!!! ALLISON GRODNER HAS MADE A MOCKERY OF THIS SHOW WITH HER BLATANT PREFERENCE FOR THAT COCKBAG!!!!!!!!! BOTH OF THEM SHOULD JUST GO FUCK IN A HOTEL ROOM SOMEWHERE AND THEN KILL THEMSELVES!!!!!!!! Big Brother 11: It's not rigging, it's Big Brother. Manipulation from Grodner and co. is part of the game now and future players should just learn to deal with it. The show had to evolve by letting the audience sometimes take matters into their own hands. Jeff and Jordan where given reprieve that they fought hard to get, by being likable and have used it perfectly to their advantage. You can't blame them for using twists in their favor. If you don't like it, stop watching! Survivor Samoa: FUCK YOU RUSSELL HOGFUCKER!!!! EPMB HAS MADE A MOCKERY OF THIS SHOW WITH HIS BLATANT PREFERENCE FOR THAT COCKBAG!!!!!!!!! BOTH OF THEM SHOULD JUST GO FUCK IN A HOTEL ROOM SOMEWHERE AND THEN KILL THEMSELVES!!!!!!!! You get my point?

Yeah, but it's not Russell having the game rigged - it's Russell being able to predict production's behavior.
