I think we're in for Galugong.

I don't think John's a bad player, I just think he doesn't have much to work with on his tribe.
Laura, Monica and Kelly glommed together in a Mean Girl alliance, which John obviously is not going to fit into. Brett is just sitting around "enjoying the experience", but not playing the game and Dave is an emotional psycho. Neither would be good allies. I don't recall John ever being mean to Shambo or saying anything too bad about her. But she's mouthy and stupid, so she's not the kind of person you can form a close alliance with. It's hard to know too much about the alignments in Galu because we saw so little of it, but my guess is that John was allying himself with Russell and Eric, letting them do the out-front work while he tried to pull their strings. So Russell's med-evac messed that up, and the last minute Eric boot left him alone. Now he's scrambling for a new niche. |

I still stand with that I said on Page one: John is an Idiot.
The whole Galu Tribe (except perhaps Monica) are such pathetic players. Now wonder they are Pagonged. |

John was clearly aligned with Erik and clearly has had issues with Monica. I'm assuming she wanted John gone because he brought her name up and she is
incapable of playing intelligently when it comes to voting.
Meanwhile, his confessionals continue to pile up a body of evidence that screams CLUELESS, because he's smart enough to see what's going down but lacks the skills to somehow put together an alliance which works. -SJ™ |

You guys are hating on John. I'm not sure I get it. It seems to me that John is the one member of Galu ('sides Shambro) who is thinking about making it
further. Look at the numbers. Assuming Mick's idol doesn't play, Galu and Foa Foa/Sham each have a 50% chance of losing a voting member. Foa Foa's
got nothing to lose by going to the tiebreaker. They are only in it if Shambo does in fact vote with them. So either one of them jumps ship and votes with Galu
(we haven't seen any sign of any one of them pondering jumping ship, and we haven't seen any Galu approach any Foa Foa, which should also be
addressed*), or they go to the tiebreaker and take their chances 50/50, which beats their initial odds of 8:4. John on the other hand has an out. Hell, his own
tribe decided (without his knowing) to use him as a pawn to save Laura. He's right, why him? Why not Brett (or Dave or Monica)? I wouldn't want my name
to be on the block. All it's going to take is one member of your own tribe to flip and you are the one that's fucked. Hell, at least talk to him about
it first before you set the plan in motion. Of course editing could have shown the course of events out of order, but they wouldn't do that. If I'm
John I look at it this way: Either Galu (remember, the tribe that was un-unified and pitting against each other pre-merge) goes head to head with Foa Foa/Sham
with a 50/50 chance of getting the advantage, or I flip and take my chances. So either my chances are 50/50 that our 5 will take over their 5 and then we will
systematically take out their remaining members before fighting amongst ourselves at final 5 (yeah, that would happen). Or I jump ship and assume that my
individual playing prowess gives me a better than 50/50 chance of getting past final 5. Me, I jump ship much like John did.
*speaking of which, why was Galu ostracizing Foa Foa to start? Wouldn't you want to cover your butt and bring one of them on-board? If nothing else, assuming you make the end, you'll be looking for Foa Foa votes. Throw at least one of them a bone. Crunch the numbers. At the assumed 6:4 don't you want to think pro-actively past a 3:3 or 4:2 split once the Foas are gone? Even numbers suck. 4:3 or 5:2 is much better. |

I wouldn't want my name to be on the block. That was stupid of them not to tell him first, but it was silly of him to get so paranoid. They weren't using him as a pawn "to save Laura"; they were trying to save their tribe from going to shit. Why him as the decoy and not some other Galu? They were trying to create a believable lie. He's a more believable target than Dave, and probably Brett as well. Monica couldn't have been the fake target because she was going to be the fake swing vote. |

Just watched the clip again where he's like "Incorrect. The answer is Natalie" then goes on his rant about how stupid everybody is. He sounds
like he believes in himself, there is always that!

Agreed with the above two posts. John confessionals cracked me up. I love the fact he called everyone idiots. You can argue that its a bit rich coming from
him, but you cannot argue that it aint true!

John thinks he is the Rob C of the season but he might not even be the Alex of the season. Loved his expression when Brett told him they were throwing him
under the bus.

Whats with all these posts that are all like 'why did John not make a deal with Russell and flip completely instead of changing his mind after the
vote' blah blah? Did no one see the scene where he told Russell "if it goes to a tie, I'll vote Laura, but a Foa Foa has to be out next" and
Russell said yes. Obviously Russell is lying, but as far as Johns concerned that WAS a deal. He waited until the tie had already happened so that he could see
for sure that the voting went down the way everyone said it would and then flipped, as planned.
And I don't necessarily think the flip was that bad of a move. But that's a whole nother post. |

I don't know if it was a bad move or not. Probably alienated the remaining Galu and there is the change he could be perceived as a snake after that. On the
other hand, 1 in 8 aren't the greatest of odds, he had a deal in place that nominally keeps him safe next week.
I really don't know if I can wait 4 weeks to make this damn youtube video, his confessionals are GOLD! -SJ™ |

Yeah he alienated Galu but he was at the bottom of that totem pole anyway. He did go from being 5th in his Galu alliance to being 6th in the Foa Foa/Shambo
alliance but once the rest of the Galus are gone (RIP Brett

I feel that one is a given. I certainly wouldn't risk a million dollars to chance when I could cut a deal and insure my safety.
Of course now in confessional John will act like he made some grandady move of the game. Or should I say "Varsity"? "John, that was a good, VARSITY style move, man!" -SJ™ |
