Well I think we are all thinking the same thing when we see that picture
that top really doesn't go with that bottom |

That was on the front page of the ny post today.
very few ppl on this planet are living a better life than Jeter. |

Like Jeter as a ballplayer...don't really care for him as a person. I dunno why but he's always seemed kinda
assholish. It may be those American Express commercials he did back in 1998.

Jeter is the modern day DiMaggio.
Talented, loaded, private, kept his junk off the front pages and apparently about to marry a Hollywood actress. |

Why do they stretch these damn awards out over 2 weeks? Why not announce them all at the same damn time??

You're asking this about the people who scheduled the playoffs over a month?

the cubs have a shit farm system, but they also don't have the money to add a guy like halliday. they most likely don't even have the money to keep
harden, who wants to come back.

I figured the new owners would spend but I guess their hands are tied for now with all the backloaded contracts. Cubs can't be serious about trading
Bradley and getting Castillo back, are they?
anyway, looks like the Jays will have to trade Halladay in the div since there are only two teams that can afford him. |

Halladay will look good in the pinstripes....

Mets owners will spend but on specific targets. Last season they focused on the bullpen and had a great offseason. I think they'll go after Molina for
catcher and probably a lower tier pitcher (not Lackey). If they can trade Castillo, say hello to Orlando Hudson.

Sometimes I really wish MLB had a salary cap deal in place.

Its nice to see Yankees fans don't even pretend like their team doesn't buy every big name FA on the market.

HOW DARE YOU!!!...the yankees don't buy all the free agents....sometimes instead of paying cash Jeter just theatens to sleep with their wives if they
don't embrace the pinstripes (the ladies would obviously be more then willing)

Phillies were 7th in payroll last season.

The difference being that our biggest contracts came mostly as rewards to players currently on the active roster.
The Yankees went out and spent nearly a quarter billion dollars this year alone on three players Huge difference and a completely different business model . I'd rather wait another two decades to win another one instead of a store bought one every couple of years or so. |
