I think there have been several memorable dances: Three contemporary dances (Travis and Stac(e?)y), The Broadway last week (which felt like the most realistic Broadway piece we have seen), the AFro Jazz, and Ellenore nearly ripping off her own dress dance. I actually have enjoyed this season SO MUCH more than last. Even the season before, it was basically Mark and Chelsie and Katee that made me enjoy.

I think that this season, we finally have some truly diverse dancers, with some real charisma AND skills. I think they will bring it, even harder, as the season go on.

It is, as has been stated, the judging that has gotten progressively more insufferable. Adam has brought a bit of class to routines: He explains in simple terms what SHOULD have happened before giving hints on what to work on... and what to work on in dance terms, not in broad crazy terms OR what to do in the specific dance (which only helps if they pull a Russell and "accidentally" get the same dance style twice). Even Adam, though, is obviously being coached.

Mary needs to be told that it is ok to go back to the quiet side. These shows always feel they have to up the ante: Jeff Probst got progressively more involved and bitchier at tribal councils, Phil Keoghan started asking more personal questions on TAR, and even Tim Gunn has suddenly been asked to give advice in the workroom (he alsways stopped short of telling people what to do in the past, though this season he was VERY directive). Mary is part of the false belief that people want it to keep getting bigger and more "in-your-face." Somebody buy her a new book of tricks.
