Abby and Brittany are a rare form of Siamese twins. They are dicephalus twins, which mean that they share many of the major organs of the body below the waist. They have two spines that join at the waist and two pairs of lungs and three kidneys. They have two hearts and two gall bladders. Each twin controls one part of the body and if the fact they are joined together is not taken into account, one can say that they lead very separate lives. They have different driving licenses and completely separate personalities.
Brittany got engaged in January 2009. Which brings to mind certain very obvious technical difficulties such as who feels the penis in her anus. On the show
last night, the twins were asked about the difficulties and advantages of living a life in which both have to stay so close to the other at all times. The two
are now attending their first year of college at the Bethel University. The show was, above all, a tribute to the remarkable spirit of the two women who
intends to carry on a normal life despite overwhelming odds.
