Mick whipped right through the grappling hook portion of the challenge (finished first!), and then he and Shambo were going great guns at the puzzle portion. Then all at once both started having difficulties. Shambo was using the wrong puzzle piece, I think, but I swear Mick s-l-o-w-e-d down to allow Laura to win the challenge. I think he doesn't want to be seen as an immunity threat at this stage of the game. Crafty guy! He's not showing much to the camera, but I think there's a lot going on behind his bland mask. I know FF calls Mick their leader, but did he provide for the tribe? Russell seems to do most of the fish catching and water gathering. He and Shambo were off fishing during their little conversation about the immunity idol. I see Russell more in the F role than E right now. I don't know about Shambo. I'm still having trouble classifying her. I saw M characteristics last night and not so much E.

Remember, the twist this season is that each tribe needs to elect a "leader". Remember the challenge where Mick showed up without his necklace (because FF thought it was bad luck) and Probst scolded them and said "as long as Mick is still your leader" or something like that. So I think FF referring to Mick as their "leader" is a title so they don't get in trouble with the producers.

Posts: 6334 (11/13/09 4:30 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts	LV, I see the Mother potential for Shambo, but it was missed when she wasn't able to join Foa Foa before the merge. Her role as teacher (the little palm torches) and nurturer (she said some positive praise to each FF member as she met them.) And like I said, "adopt" is a pretty strong family word. Shambo was stuck on Galu, where she finally settled in as a shunned outcast, who gets along to get along. She has no family role with them. She's disrespected and overlooked. Now, that seems to be her strength, because Galu is a fragmented, parentless mess. It's interesting that if not for her time at Foa Foa, she would not survive much longer. Her role now with the Foa Four seems strong, but I don't see the chance for the intimate bonding time that leads to a successful Mother. To survive now, she has to distance herself from too much connecting with them. Her best role now would be slightly outside the core group, which is a definition of an Eccentric.

E = Russell H and (for most) Shambo S = John, Jaison, Dave, Brett D = Natalie, Monica Way too many sons; maybe one too many eccentrics. I am beyond tired of all the close-ups of RH's face.

In particular, the Shambo v. Laura plot screamed to me "too many Ms". My guess for FF6: F: Mick M: Shambo E: Russell S: One or two of: Jaison, John, Brett D: One or two of: Natalie, Monica I'm not sure where I would place Dave. He doesn't strike me as an S because he's too dominant, but he's not an F either. Maybe an E? Either way, I'd argue the difficulty in placing him suggests he's not in the F6.

We had a little discussion about Dave earlier and concluded he was like an eldest son. This tribe is looking more and more like it belongs in Neverland to me! I am wondering if anyone remembers Mick saying early on that he was worried about being F and that he was going to lay low. I seem to have a memory of something like that in the first episode or the second. Now that he's won immunity, I wonder if he will start to emerge a bit more.

Posts: 3060 (11/20/09 12:29 PM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts	The families they chose last night are: F - Mick anti-M/E - Russell E/M - Shambo S - Jaison, John D - Natalie M - (Laura) D - Monica S - Brett, Dave So whichever way we consider Shambo and Russell, the former FoFo-based family should be pretty stable. I'd expect them, minus a son, to be F5 for sure. Family-tension-wise, they should want to resolve the son situation sooner rather than later, although some game event, like individual immunity or the idol, might keep that from being possible. The three Galu orphans should be the next three out after that.

He says he's not going to tell anyone about hav ing the hidden immunity idol, then he runs around telling everyone. He says he's not going to provide for the tribe, but then off he goes to fish, collect food, etc.Natalie treats him as her father (he says she asks him to cut this for her, to find that for her). I see Russell as a Reluctant Father. He doesn't want to be the F, but that's the role everyone wants him to fill since he's the dominant male of this bunch. I feel like this recap should have been entitled " The Russell/Shambo Recrap Epsiode". The two people we've had such difficulty classifying into a family role. Seems to me like they are a Motherly Eccentric and an Eccentric Reluctant Father, which bodes well for Russell's chances of winning.

They show him with his secret stash of food, eating alone, and gloating (as Erik does) that he is NOT going to share "his" food. THis is not an F. He lets out the chickens. He pours out the water. Not an F. He is, as MissScamper (Hi!!) noted, extremely inconsistent. I don't see Natalie treating him like an F at all. She has expressed suspicions about him, and she seems to be "handling" him. He is clearly E to me, in every episode. He is perhaps the best example of an E I could think up. Next scene after Russell eating his own fruit, we are shown Mick, also not sharing food with the whole tribe, but with 4 other people: "Cheers, guys!" <br> <br> Shambo, having to remind herself "You're not at home. This isn't your family," speaking to the power of the stressful situation to bring out family roles, and the difficulty in suppressing them. Loved the scene where she was talking about holding the "devastated" chicken in her arms, and the "ok, baby" she uses to talk to all the tribal kids. Then we had Laura, who saw herself as an M demonstrating her teenager qualities as Shambo cried.<br> <br> Dave's "I'm the provider. I'm the firemaker..." and then talking about what "the boys" say, and how he just goes along with them. <br> <br> I thought Jaison 's and Mick's portrayals were surprising, particularly Jaison's drive to win.<br> <br> I still find this season downright odd, with what feels to me like a lot of jumbled twists and turns in the editing. Surely Russell, Shambo, Dave, Natalie, Jaison, and Mick got the most story development tonight, I thought. I agree with MissScamper, though-- it should've been called the Russell and Shambo show. I would be shocked if we didn't see Foa Foa + Shambo at F5. And Russell even said last night that he wants to take Natalie and Shambo to F3. The only thing I see screwing that up is Mick of Jaison (whoever is left) winning immunity at F4. So who wins out of a Russell/Natalie/Shambo F3? It should be "mom", but I can't see any of the Galu voting for Shambo!

FF4 says parents always have the best chance of winning in the F4, and eccentrics have the least (since it has never happened). Should this scenario come to pass, I imagine Russell the Hateful could lose by becoming too arrogant (oh, the temptation!) in letting everyone know in his proud way what a Great Player he was--so great he even poured out everyone's water, etc... I imagine if they get to see the Russell we've gotten to see, he will lose. (That's if he makes it to F4, of course).

You're forgetting about our Father/Eldest Son, Mick, who should win if he makes it there. I can't imagine both Sham and Russell being in the F4, have we ever had TWO Eccentrics? I figure it'll be one F\Eldest S like Mick, one E like Russell, and the other 4 of our F6 or 2 of our F4 being Sons and Daughters who don't win.

"It makes me mad and I like it." "She had to run her pie hole -- the b*@#ch's gotta' go home." Mick says he started out the leader, but "Russ is now leader of us strategically." I still see him as an E. An F wouldn't say or believe or feel what R the H has said just in this episode, let alone what he's actually done to his tribe. Then we have Shambo. "Shambo kept things going around camp," says Monica. "Baby boy busts out the moves!" says Shambo. "We don't want to get her upset," says Mick. A masculine mother to be sure, which most are calling eccentric, although at the moment she doesn't look all that marginalized to me, except to Monica, who's gone now. So who have we got whom we have agreed upon all along?? The kids: Brett, Jaison, Natalie. We've disagreed most about Shambo, and R the H next most. F6: Mick: F (some say S) Shambo: M (but everyone else says E hahahaha) Russell the Hateful: E (some say F) Jaison, Brett: S Natalie: D This is a classic FF4 F6, looked at either way.
