I don't buy the rigging accusation, and usually I am pretty easily convinced about rigged crap on these shows.
The guy was talking about finding the idol from the beginning, and frankly, I have LONG wondered why other people didn't do that, hell, at least TRY. 4 people were given that clue, and their main game plan was to follow Russell? Even then, the pudgy dude out-ran the Yoga-set, and fooled them completely. They were pathetic. True, maybe they didn't edit the others searching for it, but that's storyline, and edit, and it really didn't look that way. Hell, Probst even TOLD them the idol was back in play this time, why weren't they all climbing trees and searching the bridge and other obvious landmarks for it? I like Russell being on this season because the guy never takes his eye of the prize or his mind off the game. He's obviously watched the show and had a game plan going into it. He really won me over though when he led his soon-to-be-pagonged tribe into that merge, head and ego high, looking for opportunity, deploying his troops, and acting confident instead of like a whipped dog with his tail between his legs begging for mercy. He played that idol, even though he didn't need to, which was cautious and smart. It's just nose-to-the-grindstone play and I am enjoying it. I don't mind the idols, it keeps things interesting, and the last few episodes have been amazing. Shaking things up isn't bugging me at all. I have never been a Survivor-addict though, and used to just catch the episodes later on the website, if at all. This season? Hell, I am watching them on justin TV because I can't wait to see what's happening, and then watching them again when they broadcast on the left coast, because they were just that good. I really doubt that I am the only one out here being won over to Survivor because, editing, or personalities, this season has been compelling. That said, I can certainly "get" that, for those of you who HAVE loved the show from the beginning, messing with a beloved favorite could be annoying. |
