The frustrating part is -- I'm being portrayed as this mean girl -- don't you think that if CBS had footage of me being mean to her and calling her names they would show it? They absolutely would. I called her a Gilligan. (laughing) I called her a Gilligan in a confessional because she lost our snorkel gear and our chicken. It was like a tongue in cheek, oh my gosh, this woman is Gilligan. That's the worst thing I called her is a Gilligan. How dare me. It's hard watching it. It's hard being portrayed as this mean girl. It shows in the very first scene when we're all swimming on Day 1 when we all go out in the water and she's sitting on the beach and we're like, "Hey Shambo, come on! Come in here swimming!" And she's like, "No. Those young people out there swimming." First of all Shambo, I'm your age, Dave's your age, and [Russell Swan] is your age. Quit being this victim and come out here and go swimming. We would say, "Shambo come sleep in the shelter with us. We're cold and we need the body heat." [She'd reply] "I'm going to sleep in my tree. I'm going to sleep in my tree." She would constantly choose to do things to isolate herself and be this nobody wants to be around me. "She's delusional! She's a bitch!" Wah wah wah.

Erik: I thought [Monica] was worthless as far as her contributions to camp, her contributions to gameplay and stuff like that -- but anybody that has a vote is worth something in that sense of the term. But I was worried about Laura. Hell, I could have gone to the finals with Laura. I could have kept Laura around. I would have minded there being six of us once Foa Foa was all gone and Laura being one of those six people. I was cool with Laura. I thought she was intelligent. She was a little bit arrogant and she got a little bit pompous. I didn't like the way she treated Shambo and I do think she got really greedy when she had the opportunity to burn me. But I still could have worked with her because she was competitive and I can respect that. I had no respect for Monica. bold and italics mine...maybe Laura wasn't quite the innocent angel she is insisting she was to Shambo?

Don't fault her for the whole Shambo thing, though. I do believe that Shambo's more at fault for having a shitty social game and blaming it on others. Doesn't make Laura any better, though. Decent strategist and solid competitor, but obnoxious to endure and bitter as fuck, so I'm glad she's gone.

I took that reaction as "shit's about to get craaaazy," as opposed to "how DARE Russell play the game!" After all, didn't the second line of thinking serve as the primary reason behind Russell's tirade against Laura and Elizabeth (and Marisa, if you want to take it all the way back) in the first place?

And "pompous" is the major adjective I'd use when describing Erik! I believe that Shambo immediately recognized Laura as the "mama" type to the other girls, so that alone was enough to instill hatred in this bulldyke fugly-ass bitch. And, unable to hit a tile in the game herself, she then displayed the classic bad-sport act of laughing because Laura also failed to break a tile. I'm usually pretty good at spotting clique behavior (which has happened in many seasons of Survivor), and I just didn't get the feeling that there really has been this kind of exclusionary behavior among the Galus. I think it's all in Shambo's own warped mind.
