I agree that one bugs me LOL I still love it though... good episode this week.... anyone watch Being Erica, the guy who played Jason the boyfriend, is on that he works in Erica's office... I never would have recognized him but hubby looked it because he thought he knew him from something else

The combination of the performance(s) and the edit during that last 10 minute stretch - just about as strong of an emotional reaction I've ever had to a show and pretty much as good as it gets in terms of quality. Take the emotion out of it though, not sure why they went with Lou as opposed to "older Spike" as I call him since I still don't know his name. Lou being the youngest (no?) could have had a lot more to offer, while "older Spike" just takes up space. By no means is he a poor addition to a show, just a better subtraction. And I assume this show is Emmy eligable... get Enrico the nomination he desperatley deserves. What really irks me and as crazy as it sounds, I think if the show was on FX or TNT, it would probably get A LOT more attention. It's as big of a critical darling as it can be considering where it falls on the schedule - give it that "cable" buzz and it probably only gets bigger. Not sure if I could watch this again right away as it really was that heavy, but yeah, one of the best hours of television I've seen all year.

I cried through the last fifteen minutes. All the actors did a great job. I'm glad this show is back, even if it is just replays of episodes Canadians have already seen.

Remove this ad Last night was also very good - it's clear that even with the loss of a regular, the cast has found it's sweet spot together. Even episodes with lackluster plots are going to be elevated by their dynamics as a group. And it was AWESOME for me personally to watch AJJ really shine in the closing moments last night. She's never gonna be an Emmy contender, but to see someone you grew up watching and crushing on during youth be able to do true meaningful work over 15 years later is really a cool thing. I'm hard pressed to think of too many shows that I consistently enjoy more than this one.

Posts: 2961 (08/06/10 03:01 PM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I just watched last week's episode... strong concept, great pacing, anti-climatic ending... and Amy Jo Johnson gave an Emmy caliber performance at the end of the episode - no she really did. With Parker in such peril, I couldn't figure out why they had the Jules character so quiet throughout the episode. Then, when they nabbed the first supsect she was really laying into him - tack this on at the end and it all comes together. As I've said before, someone who grew up watching (loving) her, to see her do great work like this is incredible. Also, the Jules character has really developed into one of the stronger female characters on TV. At first, she was just the "tough chick cop", but as time has gone on she has become very layered (kudos to AJJ and the writing staff). And now, they put her "father figure" in harms way, but instead of breaking down and being an emotional wreck the whole time, she stays focused on the job, shows agression/emotion to one of the partie's responsible, and then chastises him for the error in his ways when it's all said and done.
