Let's see...
1 They'd force Foa Foa to vote somebody out even though they had just lost a tribe member anyway. 2 They'd give Laura an automatic ally by putting a fellow Christian that she knew previously on her tribe. 3 They'd help Laura avoid being voted out at F12 by only making her compete against the women for immunity. 4 They'd stick an immunity idol underneath the bridge where Laura claims to have been all day. Four clear and unarguable examples of the producers trying to rig the game in Laura's favor, and it still wasn't enough (See how easy it is to unmoor your brain from reality and construct specious conspiracy theories, fantards?). |

If this season was staged, they wouldn't have the Super-villian and 3 boring followers on the underdog tribe. They'd want the underdogs to be likeable
and\or interesting.

It occurs to me you could stage finding the hidden idol by having the camera crew lead the beneficiary, filming backwards, as they backed towards the general
area, and nobody would ever figure it out (and the beneficiary never tell). Heck, a mildly smart player may figure it out without any words ever passing
between them and any CBS employee.
Russel could just go walkabout and wait for the crew to suddenly start paying serious attention to him, then begin scouring the immediate area. It could conceivably be done without any deliberate cheating on CBS' part whatsoever. Every now and then you hear of a horse or dog that can count or do simple math. Some skeptical scientists suggested that, even assuming the owner wasn't a fraud, that they may be subconsciously signaling the animal on when to "stomp", or "stop stomping" in their counting/picking an item. They proved this theory by watching soundless films, where they did not know the question being asked, or could see the animal either, but could duplicate the answer just like the animal did based purely on watching the owner/questioner.
