Either way, the horned frogs are deserving consideration for the National Championship game even if they don't come from a major conference and few will watch it. Up next: New Mexico.

remains at four after beating Kansas, 51-20. The longhorns need strong performances to move up the list and warrant a national championship bid. Up next: @Texas A&M Thursday night.

5 Cincinnati
remains at five during their bye week. The bearcats seem destined for a BCS bowl even if they lose at Pittsburgh. Up next: Illinois Friday night.
