It was like his Zodiac shows, probably who is he and what he likes to do. I think if people want him to be someone else they are probably going to be
disappointed.
I mean, after what you've seen him do on Zodiac, what did you expect, Billy Joel? People like to have this little picture in their minds of who someone is, most of the time one they created themselves. When they fall short of what people had expected or imagined, they get bent and upset which seems to be the initial impression last night. The man basically said if you didn't like it, oh well. I don't think he really cares if EVERYONE loves him or not, just that he is being true to himself. He has balls for that, even though it was a bit crass. It could be worse, he could be pretending to be someone he isn't like Gokey. |

If he wants to be edgy - so be it. I'm still calling it a shitty performance. I've seen plenty in my time. I've spent time in gay bars in Miami and South Beach - in fact, I once saw a performer go down on a drunk bystander, and blow him right on stage. So what he's doing is nothing new. It's overt and crude sexuality - and sometimes that can be sexy - but I didn't find Adam's attempt at it so. And worst of all - his greatest asset - his voice - was nowhere to be heard. And the hilarious part is - he isn't even making headlines - he got upstaged by J-Lo's fall. He covered up his fall really well. In other news, I see his album is number 4 on Itunes. Can someone please explain to me why it's moving up again. Did it move up when people pre-ordered the album - and then moved up again once they downloaded it? And if so, did Kris's album appear on Itunes when people pre-ordered it right after the finale? |

He's going to perform on David Letterman show tonight!! He said in an interview after the AMA's that it's going to be a whole different type of
song, called "Whataya Want From Me?" I bet he'll be awesome!

I watched the video this morning and my husband (who doesn't know who Adam Lambert is) said, "Does this kid think he's Freddy Mercury or
something? What a tool."
Could not have said it better.
On CNN, they have a video of him saying the kiss was in the moment. Oh, that's crap. The most enunciated part of the entire song was "Can you handle what I'm about to do?" right before he did that. That said, that song was just about perfect for a debut.... he kind of said it all. Good think Nigel isn't controlling things anymore on that end. He would not have approved of that, at all. (And yes... they still have control of those guys at least a year or more after their win.) |

Oh hell. I missed the performance last night (fell asleep) and was excited to see it/read about it this morning when I got to work.
As much as I love Adam, I did not like the performance, mainly because it didn't showcase his singing. He doesn't need all the other crap. My favorite thing about him is his voice, which never failed during AI or on tour (I attended the Sacramento concert). His ability to just sing (unlike other gimmicky artists) is so refreshing. The sex part wasn't such a big deal but why did he flip people off? I'm confused. And did he really fall? I thought that was a choreographed move....he recovered so well! I'm still buying his album but I'm one confused Sparkle Cow..... I'm hoping he redeems himself on Letterman tonight......just SING Adam, and be charming in the interview...... |

I think he wiped the hell out, big time. He rolled perfectly though so he didn't look like as huge of a douche as Jho did. All in all, I expected more but Im not going apeshit over it one way or the either. |

I looked at the "fall" a few more times, and yes he did trip. But he really did recover well - I truly thought it was part of the act.
Still loving Adam......I will be very interested to hear his explanation of the whole thing. If his goal was to be talked about, he accomplished that!!!! Again, just SING, buddy!! You don't need the drama...... |

Hey Suzy! I know that you are part of the original gang on here that loved ADam during his AI run, so I know that you did like him and you do have the right to
your opinion (IMO!). I agree that he was really did seem like he was pushing it hard, maybe coming off as desperate. If it were me, after that fall, I would
feel desperate too. I did download the album this AM and I have to say that I think that there are quite a few songs to really like. Others have said that
Broken Open and Strut are great and they are. There are 2 or 3 more pared down rock n roll type songs that I personally really like. I don't like all dance
all the time Adam, but it does seem like he wants to integrate that too. The song he will be doing tonight on Letterman (I forget the name), I think, will be a
really big hit. Compeletly different direction, more singing less dance music. FWIW, I think FYE is one of the worst songs on the album.
