Does anybody have a good recipe for coconut cake? I'm thinking it'd be nice to have something other than pie.

Anyone got a recipe for a ham glaze that isn't all sweet and/or pineappley?

Don't you need at least some sugar to make it a glaze? How about dijon mustard and apple juice? Or some combo of mustard and preserves or marmalade, just
go light on the sweet ingredient.

Haha, my sister threw a fucking fit last night when I suggested we forego salad this Thanksgiving. We have it all the time and it's the same old kind,
nothing special. I think she was pissed because it's the only thing she knows how to cook.

^^^ Wrong thread. That belongs in the 'white trash food' thread.
I never made Paula's crust but the one I have also uses butter and Crisco. That way you get flavor and flakiness. Of course, the best pie crusts are made with lard but no one does it anymore. |

And while we're at it, bring back beef tallow for deep frying french fries.
The fries were just never where the same after Mickey Ds switched to vegetable oil. |

I didn't see a 'White Trash Thanksgiving' thread, so I'm posting here.

I just follow the recipe on the can of pumpkin for my pumpkin pie. So I guess it isn't my pumpkin pie, it is everyone's.
I just made 3 loafs of pumpkin bread though, my grandmother's recipe. yummy |

Since I was able to deep-six the two remaining in-laws, I shall be making my first pumpkin pie, evah. The can recipe does look easy. Pie crusts are a
time-consuming pain in the ass, so I bought a frozen crust.
