I wouldn't mind their storyline being permanently over if it weren't for season 4 being entirely dedicated to "OMG Barney luvs Robin lol."
Having a season of build-up only to tear it down in a few episodes seems a waste, as much as I love single Barney. So I won't mind if they keep the
back-and-forth thing going for a season or so, or at least have Robin hooking up with that guy bring a big change in Barney or whatever. At least make all that
build up give off a reasonable pay-off.

Slapsgiving...Revenge of the Slap

Aw how sweet that such a gift could give so much.
But didn't Marshall cheat? He transferred it, thus 'twas 5. Right? And hadn't the sun already set when Marshall came to find Lily in the bodega? Downside though -- they could've done a lot more with Chris Elliot guesting. Barney seeding dissension: possibly his finest moment. I can't believe I'd forgotten how many slaps were left. |

Unless Marshall cheated, which I think he did. He said nothing about the slap reverting to him at sundown, only that it would expire.
Anyhow, it's my understading that rate the whatevia type threads belong in LTS. Acoordingly, I just started a Rate the Slaps thread over there. |

Only Ted or Robin had to slap Barney before the sun set. And I'm sure Lily, the slap commissioner, would have been fine with it.

Lily's "You're dead to me" look had me in fits of laughter all night. Genius stuff.
Barney getting surprised with the slap at the end when he'd been saved for the day <3 |

I'm surprised, but I really disliked this episode.
The Ted/Robin back and forth was stupid...the Chris Elliot parts were awful and even the slap only made me smile. Really disappointed in this season, only the Robin/Barney breakup episode was on par with the first 4 seasons. |

"Bored now" = Leather Willow.
But I completely missed the ref while it aired. Nice catch! That's it, I'm moving the Buffy box set to #1 on my Xmas list. |

I totally saw the Darth Willow reference though I missed the Osiris link. Nice.
Marhsall didn't cheart. It had bene passed to Lily and she couldn't go through with it so Marshall took it back. Besides which the sundown thing was a rule Marshall put down only so that it wouldn't ruin Lily's dinner. It wasn't a hard and fast pre-set rule. Loved, loved, loved this ep. The slaps being passed around, the dad turning it into a board game (the bruised kid had me in laughing fits), Lily's look of death and her "Someone I didn't care about at all!" line followed by the widow bursting into tears, Ted's desperate plea to get the slap "I'm still in love with you" lie, Barney's manipulations. Great stuff. Can't wait for the final slap. Oh and all the slap puns |
