Maybe this is why I didnt like last nights episode...apparently there was all this Buffy stuff in it, which I've never seen before.

yeah - i havent watched it yet, and have never watched Buffy - so this epi probably wont' be as good for me as it is for others.

I didn't catch on to any of the Buffy stuff (and I'm a huge fan of that show). I don't think that knowledge is necessary to enjoy this episode.
The funniest moment was when Ted told Robin he was still in love with her to get to slap Barney and she called him on it. |

Yeah you don't need to be a Buffyholic to see this ep as it is -- the Osiris ref was super-advanced to the point where although I remembered something
about it once jamesriver pointed it out, I had to hit the Buffy wiki to recall the details. Suffice it to say, the dead to me death ray is something that
Allyson's character Willow would have enjoyed using on Buffy when she was in one of her two evil incarnations.
But operationally, it's completely Lily. I do agree that this ep wasn't as strong as the past two, and also agree otherwise this season isn't making lol like past seasons, but Barney trying to buy time until sunset by seeding dissension between Robin & Ted was a thing of comic beauty. |

Oh yeah you definitely don't need to know Buffy to get the ep. It's very in character for Lily.

See, I didn't find the "dead to me" stuff all that in character for Lily. I mean its not necessarily out of character, but not in character
either. That type of action is way more "Carrie Heffernan" than Lily to me.

You don't see Lily holding a grudge?

CoconutPhone wrote: I can see her holding a grudge to an extent, yes...but the whole "dead to me" after one incident thing (the neighbor, bridesmaid and bodega owner) that was played up in the episode didn't necessarily seem like Lily to me. She has gotten mad about things before, like at Ted with the "grinch" stuff, but to me it didn't totally ring true. |

so so episode - I didnt like 'you're dead to me' Lilly = like someone said, it's more Carrie Heffernan than Lily - who forgives everyone
everything. And the facial expressions were disturbing not scarey.

I actually loved this episode. The back and forth with the slap was great, and the final boardgame was awesome. I would buy that game.

I suspect that nobody around here wanted to track it down, or charitably were chary of LTS, but here was my rating of the slaps:
2 !5? 5 needs to be legen- well, yeah, you know what it needs to be. |

A so-so episode tonight, IMO.
I did like Barney in the overalls with a collared shirt and tie though. |

I liked parts of last nights episode. Even though it was a bit cliche and has been done in other shows (and a few times in the Golden Girls), I enjoyed 15 year
old Marshall's letter, it was fun.
I also enjoyed the idea of the girl that breaks up and gets with the next guy who she talks to...I know girls like this, it always amazes me how they can jump from guy to guy to guy like that, so that was a bit funny. Robin's part kinda sucked and I thought the scene in Ted's classroom was embarrassingly bad, not only would that never happen, it wasn't close to being funny. |
