CT is not like virtually everybody who has been on Real World or Road Rules. It has been like a dream for everybody else who has appeared on those shows to be a part of the series; they carefully plan out audition tapes and some people are rejected repeatedly before they finally get on a show. CT was actually sought out by production after they were told about him by various people (one of which was David Burns from the Seattle cast) that he would be a good person to have on the show for whatever reason. CT never really watched the show and since the season was going to be in Paris, he jumped at the opportunity to go. He really had no idea as to the extent of drama queens & douchebags he'd be dealing with.

He continues to do challenges because again, it's a chance to take an exotic vacation to a foreign land, compete, and win a lot of money and prizes... and he definitely loves to compete. You seem him get into a lot of arguments because quite frankly, the people on these shows are people he would not associate with in his real life. None of these people from the challenges are people CT considers to be "real" friends and he doesn't associate with them when they're not doing challenges either. He has nothing to do with a single person from the casts.
